This sandwich made me regret waiting so long to eat bread. Why did I ever do that? I fucking love bread!

Watchdate: March 2021
Akira (sub) - 1988
Director: Katsuhiro Ohtomo
Screenplay: Katsuhiro Ohtomo / Izo Hashimoto
Production Budget: 700 million JPY (5.5 million USD)
Why I Chose This Film: Twitter thread discussing the beauty of the film caught my eye. I realized I recognized the poster, but had never seen the film. Hadn’t watched an anime in a while.
The First Fifteen: Set in the not-so-distant future year 2019, the film feels a lot like the present. Echoing scenes of turmoil and friction taking place around the world today. Anti-government protests, corruption, domestic terroristic threats, it all feels like we should be testing Ohtomo for clairvoyant abilities.
Least Favorite Actor in the Film: Nozomu Sasaki (Tetsuo Shima) His voice just got on my nerves! No other reason.
Most Impactful Scene: Bosozoku bike chase - beautifully timed, colored, and scored.
Thoughts On the Film Budget: None.
Overall Rating: 14/15
- Time & Money: 2/3
- Actors Performance:3/3
- Writing: 3/3
- Score & Editing: 3/3
- Cinematography/Graphics: 3/3

Images like this always draw me in. Iceland seems so idyllic and simultaneously perilous. Why do we find the venture in unfamiliar or uncharted territory so appealing?

Absolutely stunning.
I love looking out at the beauty world and my feeling my own insignificance. Images like this remind me of the fragility of the human existence. That mountain has been around long before you, and will undoubtedly outlive you.

Too late for #fbf but found this shot of #TourEiffel from December '15 . That night, the fog rolled in, and the entire city of #Paris became cloaked in a beautifully mysterious aura.

The foam layer on your matcha is just like the crema on your espresso, the sign of a good brew. 🍵 Ready for #MatchaMonday 😉 주말~끝 ! 아이구 너무 짧네요. 아직 일로 돌아가기 싫어요. ㅠㅠ . https://www.instagram.com/p/BSaJGwXgBiN/
