Sorry if you’ve answered any of these questions before, I just know that a lot of world building stuff changes quite frequently so I wanted to get your current idea for it.
Ok so for VTTPI , Im really curious how the time travel mechanics actually work, based on what you’ve said before it seems to be a more alternate timeline kind? But do the things someone does during time travel carry over into other/ their own original timelines, chaos theory style, or is it more of a person is just kinda gone for a bit and nothing is impacted beyond wha they directly influenced. Also are there any consequences to time travel outside of general logic stuff, like health complications, reactions nightmares, ext. ALSO if the whole ‘time traveling sends you to a different timeline’ idea is still in place, is someone ever able to actually return to their original timeline or just one that seems similar?

I think you said one of my posts answered your questions but I would still love to answer the stuff here! Since that was more related to the "why" of time travel than the "how" of it lol
Actions that happen during time travel absolutely have an effect on other timelines they go to. It's the main reason why the time travel investigation had even started: due to Diana's time traveling (and specifically her using time travel to escape being arrested/Vint dying).
There are also definitely side effects to using time travel. Derealization would likely be common (Fake Diana and Fake Vint are likely a product of this). It would be strange going to different times no matter how often you time travel. You would also likely sustain injuries from (presumably) tossing yourself around the universe repeatedly.
I additionally like the idea of consequences if you're in a timeline you don't exist in for too long, such as your body either aging quickly (in the future) or disappearing (too far in either direction).
As for the last question... you could, hypothetically, go back to your original timeline. Vint seemingly manages to get back to his by breaking the watch (as well as Diana going back the first time as I mentioned earlier).
However, simply because time travel exists, there would be no way to go back to the true original timeline pre-time travel. Traveling back to "before time travel" will just make a timeline where it exists. Because how would you travel back in the first place without it?
(In short it would be very similar, but an alternate version where time travel exists. The only way to get to the original timeline would be to destroy time travel itself. Or alter to universe to do so)
