Recently i like to challenge myself with finding composition that are not obvious. I went out to watch the sunrise to a beautiful viewpoint. Took the obvious pictures of the view, i even took a self portrait and then just sat there for a bit admiring my surroundings.  On the hillside i spotted a lot of fallen trees and i wondered if i could make something of that pattern. An other throwback winter photo for today. I took this picture three years ago when we went on a skiing trip with some friends. It is a little island with some pine trees in the gorgeous Lago del Predil. I loved how the fog created some nice separation the pine trees and the mountains in the background. I hope i will be able to go back to the Alps soon. Since i arrived a bit late on location i almost missed this sunrise. Because of the thick cloud cover i wasn't hoping for much, but for a brief minute and a half the sky was on fire. I went for a quick morning photo session today. Despite the rather grey and gloomy weather i managed to get some decent photos. Today's photo is from Iceland. I took it 5 years ago, when i was there volunteering in a guesthouse. I can't believe it was actually that long ago. I was searching through old hard drives and found it. Now that we can't travel i find it nice to go through photos from old adventures and make new plans for the -hopefully not too distant- future when we will be able to travel again. Some more winter patterns for this evening. Loved this hike. As i got higher and higher on the mountain it was liked i walked into winter more and more. This one is a little more abstract form my last amazing winter hike. What caught my eye in the scene was the contrast between the slightly rust coloured thicker bushes and the misty forest in the background. Then i chose two nice and straight beech trees as foreground and this is how i made this shot. The most joyful thing about weekday, winter hiking is the lack of crowds, even around frequented spots. Recently i like to include a person in some of my photos, but running back and forth from my tripod when i'm alone, is not something i'm comfortable with when others are around. Road to the winter🙂 A few weeks ago as the first proper winter weather arrived with some snow i headed out for a hike. I made the mistake of picking a pretty popular spot on a weekend. I started fairly early and it was totally fine, but by the time i finished my hike and started to approach the car park the area was absolutely crowded. I took this photo on the last stretch of road and i had to wait a few minutes for the opportunity to take a photo of the road without anyone in my shot.
