One shop that I found that particularly liked during my research into the area was the little organic food shop called âHeart Space, Whole Foodsâ. I really like these individualistic type shops as by buying their produce you feel you are helping out local businessâs or families, rather than the big brands on the high street. Inside the shop was a variety of unique little brands and fresh produce, which included fresh vegetables and freshly made bread. The shop had a really nice feel to it and also has a 10% discount to students!Â
When we asked the woman behind the desk about her thoughts on the waterfront development and the building of the V&A in regards in change in Dundee, we got a positive but varied response to other retailers.
âI hope it brings in more people to different parts of the city, more food culture and independent businesses. I built my nest in Dundee, as I am originally from Glasgow. I like Dundee because Its a small and compact city but it has beautiful views. Its easily accesable and has excellent walking and cyclying routes. I hope the waterfront attracts all sorts of people who want to come explore! My only criticism would be that the waterfront is a slight waste of money, I think more money should have been spent on the town instead for the locals, as the V&A perhaps wonât benefit them as much as others.â
