The Jones are gamers and have a special love for Zelda games stemming all they way back when they where tweens. It’s one of topics that they bonded over other than caring for roses. Since they lived in the slums it was big deal when they where able to save up enough cash (between the both of them) to buy Nintendo systems and shared games for those systems.

The Jones are middle school sweet hearts. Both lived in the same building which was located in the heart of the city where there is very little green.

They meet when Alice’s mother wins a yellow rose plant in a work raffle. Having no interest in plants Alice takes over it’s needs putting it in the only window her family’s apartment .Which catches Alfred’s eye while he’s walking home from Boy and Girls Club. Alfred’s mother has her own white rosebush that she too keeps in the only window. (It was a present from her sister when she gave birth to Alfred.)

Though long hours at her jobs leave Mrs. Jones to neglect her roses and Alfred takes up the slack only to find that he’s causing even more harm to the bush. Desperate for help he knocks on all the doors on Alice’s floor intill he locates her. Being a amateur herself both tweens struggle to keep their roses alive and become fast friends.

About a year later 12 years old Alfred asks Alice to be his girlfriend she accepts (originally to stick it to the girls in her class who make fun her hair/being a teacher’s pet.) Every year on their anniversary they exchange flowers from their rose bushes

England always seems to me like he REALLY wants someone to appreciate him, especially someone young. He wants to be looked up to, and for awhile he got that with America (and eventually Canada) and it destroyed him when he ended up being the one that pushed America away

I feel like often at times he feels like he absolutely ruined any chance of having America look up to him as he used to (Of course they have better alliances but America never really returned to being his little brother. America used to enjoy England’s food in a way and now he can’t even stomach it just like everyone else can’t)

And he’s always trying to invent new things and took pride in being one of the first industrialized nations

Whenever he’s happy about something other nations go out of their way to put him down, it makes him really defensive especially when he’s trying to do something nice for someone he wusses out in between because his first reaction is to defend himself

He really does mean well but it doesn’t often come out the right way and it almost sounds like some sort of lecture or something hypocritical.

He misses the golden years of his life, sometimes I even think he feels like he’s in a mid-life crisis sometimes (Despite being thousands of years old) and he goes out of his way to try to bring back what once were the happiest days of his life while still trying to make the best out of the life he currently has.

It’s hard for him to let go of the people he raised, a lot like China, he misses when they actually looked up to him.

If you say one nice thing to him you undoubtedly have his heart

He’s a total sweetheart underneath all of his defensiveness, he’s one of those people who kind of needs to be treated gently in a way and although some of his closets friends are those he fights with, it really doesn’t hurt to have someone who can tell him he is doing something right for once

Today I discovered that the ‘Queen of Spades’ tumblr tag is filled with porn, instead of Queen of Spades England that I was hoping to find.
