Take My Mind || Gideon + Open
March 7th, 1979 9:00 PM
Gideon’s fingers drummed against his desk as he watched the two women leave his office. One was slightly taller than the other, her hair darker and waist smaller, and the other he knew well enough. It was hard not to get to know Maria. She was loud and friendly, always smiling and coming in and out of this very door day in and day out, leading the muggles. She herself had once worked as an Obliviator, but now was perfectly happy being his assistant it seemed, though he supposed that might have been because he didn’t mind when she came in smelling of Gillyweed smoke, or Daisyroot Draught. He could never understand why anyone would mind though, all it was was evidence she knew how to have a good time.
However now what he needed was a good time himself. A time where he could forget about the fact that Fabian still hadn’t returned his damn owl, and that the girl last night hadn’t even bothered to stick around for breakfast. He needed to forget that Molly was pissed off at him and wouldn’t let him come round to Bill this weekend. He just had to take his mind off of it.
The man stood, his long body unfurling itself from the cramped wooden chair as he reached out and grabbed the worn scrap of parchment from his desk and folded it quickly before depositing it into it’s place in his pocket.
Twenty minutes later Gideon was leaning against the bar of some pup, not one he knew well. Most nights he went to the Leaky Cauldron, but now didn’t seem to be the time to do that. He knew a few folks here, but none had come over yet, so he waited alone for his drink before going to seek out company.
