21st Century Learner
If I'm not mistaken, Windows Movie Maker ang gamit ko noon (syempre kailangan namin nun sa subject namin).
My computer and cellphone history ='3
Then, the internet became viral. Different Online games kept popping out. As I grew older, I became more aware on how to use the computer properly. It's like I grew up with the computer, but unlike kids nowadays, I still played outside. So when I started going to school and had my computer subject, I'm faster in typing than most of classmates.
I was in elementary school when I first had my very own phone. But unlike today, I only used it to play games (well, what do you expect from a kid xD). Then I learned how text, I started having those so called "text mates". I had also tried the famous 3310 :D and that was like YEEEEARS~ ago. Really, time flies. Today, cellphones don't have keypads(but there's still some), now its called "touchscreen". Whereas the gadgets today kept evolving. Almost every month, they release new and better gadgets. And that's particularly why kids are so attached to them in this generation.
Guess which phone I first had when I was a kid xD
NDC Central Luzon Qualifiers 2014-2015
After a month of sacrifices, it was all worth it. We've been through ups and downs, but we remained strong. Even though we're underdogs, we managed to beat our opponents. I am proud to say that we are the CHAMPIONS in the NDC Central Luzon Qualifiers 2014-2015 held at SM Clark, Pampanga. I am thankful to all the people who supported us till the end. Especially to our choreographers and coaches. I love this family <3 "TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!" "We dance to express, not to impress" -TSU Hiphop Dance Team
Digital Revolution
I always hear from old folks phrases like, “noong araw” and “wala pa yan noong panahon namin”, every time they see the way of lives of youths of this generation of technology. Where all the traditional ways is almost none existent or modernized as this generation interpret.
Like the way of cooking from the Stone Age way of using fire woods that’s lit by rubbing woods to produce fire by the way of friction and the way of using charcoal of the early renaissance. Now it’s replaced by the induction technology, after the liquefied petroleum gas, where cooking is as easy as a button away and much faster, convenient (but not when you don’t have electric power to supply the energy need to operate the machine) and cost efficient (than the LPG).
I also observed, as they say, the transportation method are also modernized where before the only means of transportation in land is either by foot or by horse and old fashioned cars and trains that are not only costly but also not as convenient as today’s modern vehicle, for the ocean are ships made only by woods other abundant materials and the transportation for air is only for military use. Now it improved and offers cutting edge technology for our transportation vehicles, ships and planes. Things like talking map to show the routes if you are not familiar with the place, preventive measures for incoming danger (like bullet penetration, light and not severe car crash and etc.) or first aids if it happen (heavy crash and impossible things are also impossible) and also made it more convenient like installing heaters, air conditioning, video player, audio player, TV and other things for entertainment. For public transportation as well such as planes, trains, ships and the like are also improved with more convenient and cutting edge devices and technology (too many to specify).
Included as well is the way of communication, from telegrams and letters that takes almost forever now it’s as easy as one two three with all the latest offers of either the internet, telephones or the mobile phones. All provide and offer faster and efficient way of communication from all over the world. They also provide real time communication for voice and or video calls which makes communication less hassle and more fun making your long distanced dialogue like talking to your seatmate. Thanks to our modernized smart phones and Apps like Facebook and Skype.
One other modernized example is the process of banking and finance, and also the economics like business and government transactions. Before banks, companies and public sectors are struggling to process their service through using analog mechanics of writing everything down on paper records and doing everything by hand which is slower and not as secured from loss, theft and damages. Wherein today’s technology offers more secure, dependable, wide and efficient for businesses. Because of computerized process and storage, everything can now be stored digitally which saves space and time from office. This also include the modernized production of factories.
Education also became modernized with the use of power point presentation, online discussions, and computerized lesson planner and grading system. Making discussions and grading not as time consuming than before. Some students also uses their smart phones to view their lesson using pdf reader, video record the discussion to review later on or picture the writing on the board to serve as their lecture notes. And references are not as hard to find now that we have the World Wide Web which introduces the use of search engines like Google to help us search for specific lesson and other things on our own convenient for lesser cost. Now learning became easier to reach with the help of things like Google and YouTube.
Digital technology also makes house works much easier with the modern cleaning tools like digital vacuum cleaner (a robotics technology that cleans on its own even without you holding it and a little supervision.) Washing laundry with the latest washing machine called laundry machine makes it easier to wash clothes with single insert and wait for it to be done on its own and a drier to dry it afterwards and many more too tiring to specify.
And most of all the very big change in our generation is the way of entertainment of this generation. From the old school “Larong Kalye” now to digital games that makes some youth unsociable and hooked in to their games not allowing them to play outside to socialize with their age that made them weak due to lack of exercise. But not all the games are harmful because there are educational computer games that helps us learn and enjoy at the same time. Additional for the entertainment is the free access for viewing videos online, like concerts, plays and dramas (online and over the television). This allows those eligible to pay for the ticket to view and watch the event.
Almost everything has changed, for the better and for worst depending on the usage. But digital technology is very awesome that offers a lot more possibilities for us. A lot more experience and discoveries. With the use of not only the internet but all the digital gadgets are included (too much to discuss all). All in all digital revolution is the cutting edge to make things a lot easier and efficient; for everyone’s own convenient and disposal.
I am grateful to the new technologies because they made life easier. But there are times when I thought “I like it better the way it was before”. The old times where you play with your buddies outside, playing in the dirt, making lots of memories together. In the past, everyone knew their neighbor and they help each other out. It just makes me sad when I don’t see this kind of bond anymore.
But then, when it comes to how it helped us, I really appreciate it. These technologies gave us a huge amount of support from every aspect. It also helps a lot, and when I say a lot I mean a LOT, in my studies. When I have assignments or projects or reports, it is much easier searching in the Google than going through books one-by-one. It saves a lot of time and effort, and it is also less hassle. When it comes to typing a report or research paper it is also easier because you can just type it in the computer, than writing it by hand (which really takes time). I am also entertained by these technologies, because when I’m bored, I can play games in my netbook or cellphone, or I can watch movies, etc.
There is a part of my heart that loves digital revolution, but there is also a part of my heart that felt like dying because of this advancement that is killing the essence of personal interaction. Whereas, I still believe that interacting personally is much better.

That moment of your life when everything is just perfect. I just had the concert of my life. Even though it was just for one night, it was an AWESOME experience. But before we claimed the success of the concert, of course we had our ups and downs.
We are a group of dancers of one school but from different colleges. There are so many conflicts when it comes to our daily schedules which became one of the problems during our practice. Another problem was due to lack of allowance of some members. Then sometimes we encounter problems as to where we will practice. Also, conflicts and fights arose within the group. During those days, I thought, maybe it won’t go as planned. I’m almost in the verge of losing hope. But then, we are one strong team. We made progress little by little, found solutions for each problem and eventually fixed those problems one by one. That was our turning point whereas to succeed our dream concert. We made sacrifices but at the end it was all worth it. One of those sacrifices is that some of us had to skip their classes. Some of us got injured during practice, some fell ill. But despite it all this, we still continued with our head held high towards our dreams.
The day of the concert, our meeting time was early in the morning even though the time of the concert was 5pm. We had our non-stop rehearsal in the morning until afternoon. All of us was tired because before the day of the concert, we had to practice every single day and we also had to rehearse almost the entire day before the main event. As the time for the concert became closer, we also felt the tension. We are all nervous, because it was our first concert and we want it to be a successful concert. Despite our nervousness, we didn’t let it ruin our concert. Our excitement was also at its peak. When the time for the concert arrived, our partner for the concert started the doxology, the TSU Chorale. After is our time to for the opening dance where we danced to the tune of “Stay the night” while the chorale was singing. We intended to get the audience’s attention so we performed with all our might during the opening number. After that, they played an AVP for the chorale and dance team. Then we prepared 3 consecutive dance after the AVP. The concert was so fast that we are all startled when it comes to changing costumes. Before the end of the concert, we showed the audience the contest piece we prepared for the incoming National Dance Competition, same goes for the TSU chorale. And for our finale performance, to close the concert, we the Dance Team together with the Choir perform the song "Star ng Pasko". Which we dedicate it to thank the Lord and all our audience for their presence and support to our concert. The saying “Time flies when you’re having fun” really made its stand. It was such a precious memory that I won’t ever forget. It also made my love for dancing much stronger. Indeed, it was a dreamy night where everything seems like a fantasy. I’m so thankful to everyone who helped us succeed. By the way, my group is the TSU Hip Hop Dance team, and I’m so proud for us. May the Blessings continue during our way to our bigger dreams. Even though I’m just a new member, I’m already so attached to this group, I really love them. Good luck and God Bless to the team.
