I had an amazing weekend with my friend Grant. We traveled 3 and a half hours south to Boseong. There we went to see the Green Tea Fields. We hiked up and down the fields and enjoyed famous green tea ice cream at the bottom. It was delicious!! As soon as it got dark we went to see green tea fields that were covered with lights. It was a pretty big festival and there were tons of people there. At the lights festival I got fried potatoes on a stick. All in all, it was a great weekend!!
Want to know what cars Koreans drive?
The other weekend I went with two other friends on a Korean ski trip. I called it the "Korean SnowJam". We traveled to the northern province of Gangwon, South Korea to a resort called High 1. We skied all afternoon Saturday till dinner. We went for dinner and then straight to the hot tub! Saturday night the trip set up a beer party!! It was a lot of fun and I met people from all over the world. We woke up early Sunday morning to get back on the slopes. Check out my Facebook for all the picture!!

The Seoul subway system is nothing like Torontos. There is no such thing as personal space!

This is a purple sweet potato. Koreans have this as a street food. One of my co-workers gave this to me today (they have literally brought me food everyday...mostly snacks, chocolate or coffee). They are so nice! The sweet potato was very sweet and delicious!!
So the temperature in my city is between 10-0 degrees right now. Koreas heating is very different from home. They have pipes that heat the floor. It can be very expensive so this is what I have right by my desk all winter long!
So yesterday I spent the day in Daegu. We went to one of Korea's biggest markets. We had a quick snack at one of the Korean street venders. I had that red stuff seen above. It is spicy Korean rice cakes (Tteokbokki, 떡볶이). The market was packed with people and had everything you could ever want. One floor was full of tradition Korean dresses known as Hanbok. At the end of our day we went to see Interstellar the movie.

So this is my go-to breakfast and coffee place. Getting a coffee is really easy in Korea because cappuccino and latte sound the same in English and Korean so they usually understand me. You can smell this place from across the street. I have picked a new danish-like thing every time I go and I have always really liked it!
This is my favourite place so far to walk in Jeomchon. I usually stroll around here in the morning. It is downtown and is a beautiful walking only street. There is a stream and many fountains all along it. There are also some nice shops and bakeries.
Ever wonder why grape juice doesn't really taste like the grapes we eat? These are Korean grapes. They weirdly taste just like Welch's grape juice! You pop them in your mouth without eating the skin. They are delicious!!
