Grizzly 399 is so cool! I went to her Wikipedia page intending to screenshot interesting facts about her, but I would really recommend you go check out the whole thing for yourself.

Grizzly 399 lives in close proximity to humans but has never caused problems or attacked a human - she has taught her many cubs important skills like looking both ways before crossing the road. She has had more triplets than is normal for grizzlies, and is far better at keeping triplets alive than less experienced mothers.

She had 22 progeny, (though not all survived) including Grizzly 610, who in 2011 adopted one of 399’s triplets along with her own two cubs. 399 previously went viral on social media for keeping her quadruplets alive through two seasons, despite bear cubs only having a 55% survival rate.

He sits down with her and sighs lightly. “Well… I was just hunting for the gang, then I ended up getting arrested… I escaped after a few weeks, then I was on the run for a bit. I didn’t wanna come back to camp while the pinkertons were closing in on me. I hid up in Colter for a few months… and came back as soon as I was able.. it was a mess. But I’m glad to be back Katie… I missed you a whole lot. So did Lily!”

Building a house was hard work. Of course he knew this going into this but actually doing it? It was even more harder than he thought. Still, he didn’t complain or gripe.. well he might have cursed out a few times when he hit his head on something but that was it. This was what him and Janie wanted. They had told the gang they were gonna be back f it a few days looking for a new place for gang. This was true but they were also using this free time to get a start on their house. So far the base was made. Arthur was proud of their work and of their drive for this house. As the sun got hotter, Arthur called Janie over for a break. Once she came over he hugged her tightly before sitting down. Both of them were sweaty but no overly.

“What do you think of the house? I think it’s pretty damn good so far. Soon enough we’ll have a complete house in a few months.” Happiness coated his words and he was smiling happily. This was a rare look for him compare to his normal sarcastic face or his “grumpy” self. With though Janie he was always happy; even in bad days he was happy with her.

“Should we make some hitching posts to go in front of the house? Maybe two or three?”

“Well, we ain’t got much, but it’s a great start. It’ll make a really good home,” Janie answered. She looked back at the foundation and smiled softly. The house, when completed, would be beautiful, but that would take time. “I think some hitching posts would be good to have. Our horses will need it until we can get a barn up.” That would take even more time, but at least it was with Arthur.

She leaned against him, her head resting against his arm. “I never imagined we would be rebuilding this home. Thank you, Arthur.” She was sweet on the man and there was no way to deny it.

“True…. But it will need up as beautiful as before and it will be worth all this work. I can’t wait to see it all built. I can’t wait to have a place I can call home.” Arthur smiles warmly, his stomach feeling all sorts or weird but in a good way. He nodded along with her. “That’s what I was thinking too. We can also add some by the barn as well… for grooming sessions for to check their hooves.” This all would take a lot of work over time, probably even months maybe even for the rest of the year; but it would be so worth it and Arthur couldn’t wait to reap the rewards. He wrapped an arm around her as she leaned her head on his arm, now she slightly rested on his chest. He leans down, leaving a soft kiss on the top of her head. He loved her so much. So much sometimes he thought he’d explode.

“You’re welcome Janie… I’d do anything for you. Anything. I love so much… I’d help ya built a second house for you.”

With his free hand he wiped off sweat from his brow. He looked over at the horses and both of them were grazing along side each other.

“I think, even the horses will love it here. Just like I know we will..”

“I’m excited too. We can finally have a home, get away from the gang for awhile. Then if we leave for good, we can have some place to go,” Janie replied. The Lemoyne heat left Janie warm and sweaty, and she knew she would need a bath later. “I love you too. I think one house is enough for us,” she laughed.

Persephone was busy wandering the field, and Janie watched her with a smile. “I think Seph will have some difficulty adjusting. She’s used to roaming around, but she’ll be fine. She handled life in Lemoyne for this long anyway.”

“Yep.. that’s what I was thinking. It will be a great place to hang out and relax away from the gang. Even more some when we leave it. This house… will be a nice addition to us and our lives.” Leaving the gang, even thinking it left a weird pang in his chest. He loves them all, well except Micah… but he wanted a family one day, he wanted to settle down and raise his family safely this time. He was going to live with Janie and the kids if they had any.

He chucked with her warmly and rested his head on hers. “Yeah you’re right… but I would for ya.” He listens to her nodding in thought while looking out at the chestnut mare. Thomas was roaming now, but I’m the opposite direction of Persephone.

“I understand that. She’s a strong one for sure… she’ll get used it especially once she knows she’s safe here with you and us. I hope Thomas will get comfortable too… I know he’s used to staying still in camp but.. we roam and ride together a lot. The same with my other mounts. Especially Lily.. she hates being not getting rode.” He laughs still resting his head on her.

“I’m just glad to be doing this with you. I wouldn’t want to do this with any other person..”
