this is an ask blog for a joke au i made. this is in no way canon compliant and this is very very ooc and mischeviory is rampant

i made this as a joke to practice drawing on pc so i can get good and it got a little bit silly i kind of love butterfly liam hes just sill

[i contemplated posting this for a while. it's a very big jump in mood from what's usually posted here and it's not the lightest of lore drops, and i was afraid that i had somehow made this wrong and would offend someone. i think it's also pretty ooc so i'm a little worried about that as well]

very big tw for: suicide mention, self-harm, hallucinations, blood, rotting, swearing, mention of alcohol, possible eyestrain? (black background with mostly white and red for drawings). [if anyone isn't comfortable with that, look away!]

[i also want to point out some very important details: here, bryce is having genuine torment from liam's presence and also hallucinations, so keep in mind that he will be a very unreliable narrator due to his spiraling mental state! his guilt leads him to believe that he genuinely deserves all this torment happening to him, and his judgement is being clouded.]

[ough. i'm pretty worried about this. i'm already starting to see flaws in this huge disclaimer i'm writing. anyways there's some lore in this post under the cut so i think that it's at least a little important]

hey cas hey wes how's it going? also what are your jobs, are they the same as liam's?

Howdy! It’s going good, I’d say!

The jobs we bugs have are kinda self-appointed, but I’d say the one I’ve given myself is basically the same to Liam’s. I help out those who can’t pass on, help out those that really need help through metamorphosis, fun stuff like that!

I involve myself in my job a lot more that Liam and Wes do - especially Wes. He just… kinda watches people. Ain’t like stalking, no. More like… studies them? Maybe? Creeps all the newbies out, sometimes. I swear he’s the reason a lotta the people here are afraid of us, kehahaha!

Cassie explained this earlier, where bugs’ve self-appointed jobs’n the lot. Me, I sit around’n watch. Isn’t my thing to try’n help people - I suck ass at that. Can’t help people If I can’t even help myself, yeah?

I like to call my job “supervising”. Watch people to make sure they’nt get in any trouble here. Patrol every so often, sometimes guide dead couples back together if I’m lucky. The usual.

I'm slightly concerned about the fact that you think I would disintegrate instead of something... less drastic.

My wings are just my back straps. I'm not going to disintegrate just because you touched them. You could try, but there isn't going to be any magical butterfly wing dust sloughing off my body once you do.

considering your role, have you ever seen a plastic water bottle with a blue label hanging around? or, perhaps - this is a group you might recognize - a white and blue tube of toothpaste, an orange scarf, a green button, a wooden cane, or a metal whistle?

They sound familiar. I can't put together exactly why.

The tube of toothpaste, I have not seen. They've been here in the Waiting Room before, haven't they?

An orange scarf... yes. They've been wandering around here for quite a while. Sometimes I see them, sometimes I don't.

A green button, I have seen. Only once, though. I suspect they may have moved on by now.

The wooden cane, I believe may have moved on as well. I haven't seen them at all.

The metal whistle, I have seen quite a bit. They have been here long before me. Interesting that they have not moved on yet.

The plastic water bottle... no. Not at all.

I feel that it is important to note that I have seen most objects appear randomly in the bottom sectors of the Waiting Room - so some of the objects I haven't seen may just be farther away from where I usually stand watch. Or they could have used the Universe Modulator.

I feel like I recognize most of them - I can't quite put my finger on it.

There are two other bug objects that I know of.

One is a kumquat named Cassie who is some sort of beetle, and the other is a can of spray paint named Westley who is a cricket, I'm pretty sure. I've never really asked, and I don't see them very often.

We can contact each other over long distances using our antennae and something I think is echolocation. So... if you'd like to ask them questions as well, I can relay some of your asks to them. I'll have to ask them first-

I was planning on answering asks today - I haven't done it in a bit, and I was hoping to get at least one done before the end of the day!

Unfortunately, a massive group of objects appeared right in front of me and were panicking quite a bit - they kept talking about a "MephoneX?"

I spent my time trying to console them but after a while they all seemed to glitch out and then disappear. So... that happened.

Um... will try to answer some asks tomorrow!
