As this blog is for interacting with my students, it’s only fair for me to give you some guidelines!

Be patient. I am a very busy demon. I’ll answer questions as promptly as I’m able.

Respect one another. Blatant disrespect and bigotry are not tolerated at RAD.

No NSFW. I’ve been told to use that to keep things professional. As the future king, I have to set some boundaries. 

I will tag topics that may make some individuals uncomfortable. If you wish for something specific to be tagged, do send a message.

I will not be accepting asks from individuals under 18.

The Ceremony of Carnality

Twice every century, a ceremony is held in a special room in the Demon Lord’s castle. Each province presents their most desirable demon, only a handful selected to attend. To be invited means wealth and prosperity for any participates, and their province of the Devildom. Chosen participants are presented to the Demon Prince, each in turn, for a private talk before the events take place. Those that make it past the talk go onto the festivities. An orgy of demons, only the finest for the prince. A ceremony to prove loyalty and provide pleasure.

A rumour once said the Demon Prince gives a choice to those selected, that they can decline the invitation yet still receive their riches. An unfounded rumour most claim, saying all participates must join or the prince would anger. One claims their tongue will boil inside their mouth if they dare speak their decline.

The truth very few are aware of. In reality, the Demon Prince does give a choice during his talk with each participant. If they refuse, he respects their wishes. Their reasons are their own. They will receive their prize. However, a curse is placed upon them not for the reasons you might assume. The Demon Prince cannot be shown to be lenient, to be kind of a fault. So if they choose to speak of his actions during the ceremony, an affliction will befall them. A boiling tongue is but one example, another pain every time they make a verbal sound. In all cases, the demons find themselves with the inability to speak.

Giving into temptation is a choice, after all.

Pacifism

For a demon, Diavolo is a pacifist. While he is of course liable to violence, as is the nature and role of demons, when it comes to war he will advocate against it.

Diavolo has seen war. He has been witness to and fought in more battles than he cares to think about, both with the Celestial Realm and between different factions of the Devildom.

He has seen the suffering of demons as a result of war and decided to work toward peace. To create an educated society that becomes self aware of the consequences of their actions.

It's far from perfect, of course. But from his experience, nothing is truly perfect. It is better, and that is what he strives for. The betterment of his subjects. The betterment of the relationships between the realms.

The singing of angels.

In his younger years, with his father still at the helm of the throne, Diavolo fought in many battles with the Celestial Realm. Never his first choice, but often unavoidable. At the end of these battles came the singing.

Voices too perfect. Too pure. Too loud. An ache pounding in his ears and a rattle shaking his bones. A final attack, enough to drive a demon mad. Any left alive often were. Wanting only for the sound to stop they revealed their positions, making desperate frontal attacks.

Lured out as lambs to the slaughter. As hard as he tried, he couldn’t always prevent it.

Diavolo cannot think of beauty hearing an angel sing, even if done so for recreation. Their songs deeply unsettle him.

Demon’s Run

Once a year a sporting event unlike any other is held at RAD. An obstacle course designed to mimic the eight levels of the Devildom, fraught with dangers and creatures no mortal should have to witness. However, demons are not the only participants. The damned are the main event, one soul of hundreds given the chance to escape to Limbo.

Limbo is the first level of the Devildom, a vast expanse of primeval forest home to nightmarish imps and trails so deep one may never find their way out from between the trees. Yet opportunity lied here, a place where suffering was not constant. The damned begged for respite, and only the strongest received it, as decided by the Demon King.

RAD’s demons have one goal. Stop as many damned reaching the end as possible. It’s a game, scores tallied and points added for creativity in the methods. Demons can work individually or in teams, many having supporters cheering from the stands set up above the chasm where it’s played. The victor(s) receive a trophy, some extra credit in the Torment and Torture class if their score is high enough.

Does the devildom have an aquarium? I'm curious about what kinds of creatures live in the devildom waters.

Yes, there is an aquarium! It’s quite new, and takes several days to get through. Recently I heard of aqua tunnels in the human world, so with some magical aid I had a system set up beneath one of Devildom’s smaller oceans. Of course, I had to surround the tunnel and lower depths of the ocean with artifical light for the creatures to be seen.

Many of the smaller creatures in the water are similar to those in the human world, though have become accustomed to the dark and have many more teeth. Ahahaha! Often times animals are reincarnated down here, with added extras to defend themselves.

The larger creatures are often those humans describe in their mythology. A few specific to the aquarium are the hydra, grindylows, and a duo I’m particularly fond of, Scylla and Charybdis.

Diavolo also chooses to be kind. He wasn’t raised to be so. For a demon, it shows weakness. He was raised to be a strong leader, which he is, but he’s also on the kind side for a human let alone a demon. Of course, he still tortures and torments the damned souls sent to the Devildom, it’s his job. His kindness, his compassion, it’s learned behaviour, nothing natural. And more than that, it’s self taught. He saw things that were harsh, cruel, when he grew up and he decided that wasn’t who he wanted to be seen as. 

A lot of his actions that come off as extreme and not self aware are because he hasn’t yet realised his actions go too far, which is a reason he accepts criticism. He wants to learn to be better. There is a difference between who he has to be, and who he wants to be. And he has to find a healthy balance between the two.

Sir I have a question, what are those black markings that you have on your demon form? Are they some sort of tattoos? Either way they look badass. 

A good question you have. While I can’t speak for every demon, my markings are the mark of a binding spell. You see, it takes some powerful magic to present in the forms I show to my exchange students.

It’s an effort to contain my true form, thus, with Barbatos’s help, I have semi-permanent magic seals and binds put into place. It makes the effort less of a conscious thing, you know.

Are there any places that are off limits for us humans? Cause we might die or whatever.

Well, there are many places in the Devildom where human lives would be at risk, should they venture there alone. While I haven't ear marked any particular places as outright prohibited, aside from the obvious, I'd strongly advise against exploring the other levels of Devildom. You won't like what you see.
