Temporary Hiatus

Hey guys.  I’m sorry, I really should have made this announcement awhile ago, but some immature hope in the back of my mind said I might have time to update.

I am still interested in running this blog, but I also have to survive capitalism.  Things are rough right now.  I am working 12 hour days the majority of the work week and when I DO have time to draw it’s used making commissions or getting ready to launch my original webcomic.

I hope to return to this ask blog and finish it, but there are some other steps that need to happen first.

You can keep up with me on my art blog @amaryka, and see updates for my original work on @projectneocomic when I begin posting pages.

I’m getting ready to launch a Patreon so people can support me and my original work.  My hope is that my own art will become my job and my fanart can be something I do for fun in my free time.  It’s at that point I would be able to start updating Usagi Club again.

It’s going to be a difficult road but my hope is that it will be worth it.  Life was a lot less complicated when I started this blog over a year ago.  It’s a sad thing to have to give up a project before I finish it, but it’s an all too common tale.  Guys, if you want artists to be able to create the things you love, you need to support them.  And I’m not just saying this for me, I’m saying this on behalf of all the amazing projects that have gone unfinished because the creator was putting in so much time that they couldn’t keep up with if they wanted to survive.  Please guys.  Support what you want to see created.

I will pop in with announcements every now and then, but for now I hope you check out my other blogs.  Until updates begin again, the ask box will be closed, but you can PM me at @amaryka.

“Hide”

((I had some late night Hersha feels.  I hope this can tide you over for a little longer.  I have some projects to finish, but after those are done I will start updating regularly again.  This originally included Welter as well but I couldn’t get his to look quite right, so Hersha gets his long awaited solo!  Once I start updating regularly again I will be launching a Patreon campaign, and the complete version with Welter will be one of the things available on there :))

Clear was a regular girl (albeit, foreign) before she got in a really bad car accident.  most of her skin was burnt severely, and the impact left her with fractures, a damaged lung, and no activity in her brain.  Clear remembers nothing of her previous life.

After being in a Coma for some time, with no family to speak of, the hospital was going to pull the plug, but Toue had other plans for her.

Curious to see if he could use mechanical parts in a human body to control them, he took her body form the hospital and got to work.  Her body still functioned, but she had no brain activity.  she was a blank slate to work with, so Toue created the first ever HUMAN Alpha.  She looks like an Alpha and her mind is wired to the signal of scrap.  her hearing and strength is also enhanced, and her vocal chords are artificial, so she can produce Dye music.

he replaced the fractured bones with stronger mechanical ones, and installed reactors up her spine to bring activity back to her brain.  As a result, her mind works very similarly to how it would as a robot, since that brain activity comes form her artificial parts.  Her reproductive system was still functional, but after giving birth to Tori it became obsolete since it wasn’t being supported by machinery.  One day her heart will do the same, the question is when.

She used to have a safety lock mechanism too, that would begin to shut down the devices sending signals to her brain if she were ever to attack her master or a fellow Alpha.  That’s gone now, for reasons.

the same story occurred with a scientist taking pity on her half human heart and taking her away from Toue’s lab.  That man she still considers her “grandpa”

((Drey isn’t 100% clear on what happened with Morphine, but he knows enough to know when to step in.  It’s important to note that Mizuki kind of Demonizes them because of what happened, but really they are doing exactly what they say.  They like to check up on him since he survived the morphine and failed scrap ordeal.  It’s more of scientific curiosity than it is worry, but they don’t mean him any harm at this point in time.))

((It’s funny you should ask that.  It actually all began with this thing I drew.

My lovely girlfriend @koujakusbaratiddies and I were talking about how cute Ren and Midori’s interaction in the Noiao Drama CD was, then I drew them in human form.  From there we imagined them as brothers, then Noiz and Aoba as their parents, and things just built from there.

I can’t quite remember how the idea of a babysitting club came about, but by the end of it we had an altered canon universe that I got attached to really quick.  I honestly couldn’t help making an ask blog after that :)

1.  Drey and Mizuki.  To them, Dry juice IS their Family...and each other too but you know.  that hasn’t changed.  Also Mizuki is still hot????? He’s like in his 40′s now????
