AREPES: How about letting us ride on your head ‘til this magic wears off?

???: S-sure! Happy to help!

VULPECULA: What’s your name, anyway?

???: M-Me? I-I’m Starlight. N-Nice to meet you all.

TIM: Starlight, eh? But… You got long whiskers.

AREPES: I’m Arepes! This lil boy is Flynn!

VULPECULA: …Tim was right, that is adorable. Nonetheless, I’m Vulpecula.

PRINCESS: I’m Princess! Heh! Nice ta meetcha!

STARLIGHT: W-well, feel free to hop on. J-just b-be careful, ok? I h-have a f-few sensitive spots h-here and there…

Styles

So, I was thinking about changing my style. I drew up a reference for how the original style looks compared to the new style. Please respond and give me your opinions and if I should stick to the original, or go to the new.

As you can see, the new style is much smoother and cleaner looking than the usual style. I used this method while working on the Pinkan post, as you may have seen with Vulpecula. My question is:

Do you like the new style and want me to use it, or do you want me to stick to my original style?

((Buzzmun here! I may not be able to make any Halloween spooky themes this year, because of extreme school work, but I did draw up all the characters in a Halloween costume of some sort! Here, I’ll let them talk.))

VULPECULA: Oh! Hey! I know it’s not very scientific in the least bit, but... Tim and Princess told me all about the human tradition to dress up on a certain day to fool evil spirits that want to take control of their body, and... I had to dress up! I went with an Angel, although I would’ve totally been a scientist or something...

PRINCESS: I suggested it! Heheheh! Papa and I were gonna be demons this year anyway, and I thought it’d be really cool if Vulpecula kinda fit in on the theme! Though I didn’t have enough red... So I talked her into letting papa and I make her a costume.

VULPECULA: That’s the one.

AREPES: Heheeee! I’m a spooooky spider! Woowoooo! And the lil one is a scary, hungry zombie!

???: Mrrr?

AREPES: See? He fits perfectly!

VULPECULA: What are we going to name him, anyway?

AREPES: I’m not sure, Vulpe..

TIM: Perhaps I can help? I mean, I am a father, I’m pretty good at names..

PRINCESS: He really is! Though I just like to use Princess ‘cause it makes me sound all special.

AREPES: Okay, then, Tim! What do you suggest for names?

TIM: Well... How about Flynn?

VULPECULA: that doesn’t sound too bad... why Flynn, though?

TIM: Flynn is a Celtic name meaning ‘son of red-haired man’. He’s got the most beautiful golden locks, and I can only think of that name. I’m sure his father, whomever and wherever he may be, had some red in him.

AREPES: It’s settled, then! The name of this little guy is now Flynn! Whatcha think, lil guy?

FLYNN: Eeee! Leeeen!

Seems I haven’t updated in quite some time, eh guys? Sorry about that, honest. School has been hectic as of late, and there has been like five thousand things happening at once while I’m just trying to relax. PLUS, with the potential of a new dog coming into the place, I might have to put this place on what I’d like to call a half-hiatus. Don’t EXPECT updates, but I might post something when I have the chance. Hopefully, after I’m done with school, I can get back to drawing this cute little bug! Wish me luck!

About shipping

((Heeey everyone! Buzzmun here!

I wanted to talk about something incredibly important: Ships, and how I feel about them towards my blog. Child-friendly shipping related stuff is ok. Cuddling, nuzzling, adorable little teases that aren’t suggestive [and if they are, they are vague so that the innocents who may read this don’t lose their innocence from something like that].

I also wanted to strongly mention.

YES. Princess loves Vulpecula. It’ll take a long time before Vulpecula isn’t such an adorably nerdy girl who has no idea that Princess loves her.

NO. Arepes is NOT getting a ship. At the very least, not until she’s the regular size of a Joltik.

OBVIOUSLY, I shouldn’t HAVE to say this but, the Mew boy can’t be shipped either.

If you really want to have some cute ship-related stuff, Tim is my only current open one. He is willing to accept a second chance at love, though he’ll be nervous.

That’s about all I wanted to say! So, if you so please, if you like shipping muses, Tim the Houndoom is open, and MAYBE Arepes once she grows to full size. Princess, Vulpecula, and the Mew boy cannot be shipped.

Pikki: Hey, Vulpaca, I heard you only use Normal Type moves? Why? Is there a reason?

VULPECULA: Well… There is a reason and there is a why, but it’d beeasier to use an example instead of trying to go through all the steps for myspecies specifically. This way it’d be easy for everyone to understand.

VULPECULA: Let’s pretend a family with young children who like to pullon anything that they like, and they want to get a pet… I dunno, Pikachu.That’ll make it easier to explain. Obviously, they don’t want their children toget severely hurt or injured by pulling on their Pikachu’s tail, and they don’twant to frustrate the Pokemon itself.

VULPECULA: So, they go to a local breeder that sells Pikachu. SincePokemon eggs don’t take decades to make, and with a few quick weeks or so forany newborns to grow, it’d be easy for them to make a Pikachu that either has atail that’s much softer and not so sensitive, or has a really short one so itcan’t be pulled.

VULPECULA: After they figure out what the parents want and what wouldbe best for the family, they breed it carefully so that the Pikachu meets those standards.

VULPECULA: However, all Pikachuhave those little electrical pouches, so there’s the issue that it could useelectricity and accidentally cause a black-out, which would freak out bothPokemon, and the humans.

VULPECULA: What they do then ismake sure that the breeding only includes Pokemon who are incapable of learningElectric-type moves. This basically makes the Pikachu’s genes turn off theElectric-ability thing, though they can turn it back on with hard work anddetermination, it takes years and years of constant, vigorous practice.VULPECULA: As you can imagine, it’s harder to do with different types. Psychic is the most difficult of all, since it has a lot to do with brain power. They don’t want to hurt the Pokemon itself, either, I mean, can you imagine lessening the brain powers of an Abra? Brrr. Not a pretty sight.VULPECULA: Thankfully, they found a way so that they don’t have to basically dumb us down. They managed to find the switch for Psychic MOVES, so that we can still use Psychic abilities. You learn something new every day!

PRINCESS: Long story short, they breed Pokemon together ‘til they got the result they want, she was bred to only know Normal types. The end.VULPECULA: Princess! I mean, yes, I was just about  to get to that but-PRINCESS: But you were about to go on another speech. Trust me, Vulpe. I love your blabbering but you gotta let them absorb all this information! Wait until someone asks for more info about it.

They had no choice but to let her go with me, since they didn’t want her to hate them. Pamela was born and… well, there you have it.

Welcome to BuzzMun’s Bi-Weekly Challenge! What is this, you may ask? Well, let me explain! I thought it’d be fun to get some people who own Poke-asks to try and create Fakemon, but with restrictions. Like typing, where it lives, what it looks like, what it might be designed around, etc. Once I get a minimum of three entries, I’ll start judging and the judging will end by the end of the next week! While the next challenge is announced, I’ll also announce the winners.

So, what do you need to enter the challenge? Here’s a list: 1. You must have some way to draw and post pictures on Tumblr! 2. You must have your Submissions Open! 3. You must have a Poke-Ask Blog! 4. Most of all, you must have an open imagination!

When I start judging the Fakemon, I will judge them on multiple categories, giving each one a 1 to 10 grade depending on how creative and realistic the Fakemon manages to reach for that particular category. Then I’ll add it up, and the top three will be the winners!

I will judge on these things: 1. Creativity 2. Design 3. Art 4. How long it took 5. Information 6. Stats 7. Location 8. Dex Entry 9. Name 10. Originality

In total, all Fakemon will be ranked from 10 to 100 for their final grade. So, you gotta really add some designs to these guys!

What will the winners get when they win? Well, here:

First place will get a full drawn, colored, and shaded version of their Fakemon. Second place will get a full drawn and colored version of their Fakemon. Third place will get an outlined version of their Fakemon.

Finally, you must tag the entry as BuzzmunsChallenge. I’ll be tracking the tag, so I can see the designs as people make them.

Now that all of THAT is out of the way…

THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE: Pikachu Clone!

You must create an Electric Pokemon based on some sort of rodent or small animal! This should be a simple challenge, as long as it’s at least part Electric-Type. The challenge will end on August, 31st, when the next challenge is announced!
