David | sports enthusiast | the brains of the operation Dr. David Murray OB/GYN but you can just call me David--but I mean, I basically sold my soul to higher education for that title but...I-well, David's fine. You can probably tell I'm a bit new to this 'blogging' business; I really just thought it was for teenagers or college students and maybe for women going through Julia Child's cookbook, one recipe at a time (Bry got me to watch that movie the other night and now it's wedged in there). Anyway, I got this thing mostly to appease my fiance, Bryan, who insisted that I stay "hip" and "trendy" or something. Apparently we have wisdom to dispense and a blog is a good way to do so; also, he seems to think people are interested in what's going on in our lives (seriously, we live in Los Angeles, since when did people care about anyone else's lives unless you're on TMZ or something). Honestly, I pretty much just use the internet for fantasy football and research but I'm sure I'll get the hang of this...probably. So--if you've bothered to read this far--this is where we'll blog the trials and tribulations of surviving our day-to-day lives in the City of Angels, but also navigating this new journey of creating a family together....oh, and if you've got questions? I'm definitely here to help anyway that I can, we're going to be dads after all, might as well get a head start on the 'advice giving' now.

Uhm..thanks! I like to think I'm a bit of a looker, but it's nice to know other people appreciate my charms outside of my gorgeous fiance. And I'd argue that I'm more the lucky one but we could probably go back and forth on that one all night.

Why did David's last name change to Sawyer?

ooc: I usually try not to post too many OOC things on my blog, but since there's no way David would be able to answer this, I decided I should because I ask myself the same thing. When I saw that "change" I honestly decided to completely ignore it, lol. He's David Murray to me (I do tag David Sawyer sometimes just in case, but I personally don't get the change, it makes no sense so I pretend it doesn't exist).

This might be a question for your parents, anon...that's assuming you're too young to have had that chat. Anyway, I'm hoping that's the case because if you're older and still don't know how the 'birds and the bees' work? I'm not sure I can help you out...and besides, in my case? With Bry? It's a bit more complicated.

Don’t really have a question for you yet; but I did want to wish you and Bryan congratulations on the baby that’s on the way! You and your fiancé are both very lucky! =)

That's so sweet, thank you! I'm sure you'll think of some questions to ask, but no pressure..messages like this are honestly just as good (and way easier to answer sometimes, haha). Anyway, I agree that I'm indeed very lucky to be starting a family with the love of my life. I used to wonder if I'd even find someone like Bryan, you know? I think a lot of us like to think about that 'Mr' or 'Miss' Right that's floating around out there waiting for us to find them...I started to really question if there was a perfect guy out there for me, and then there he was. And now we're getting married and having a baby--it's a lot all at once, but I wouldn't change it for anything.

Terribly sorry for being so MIA lately!

I promise to be much better about this thing from here on out--life's just been a bit hectic and busy which I'm sure all you guys can understand. I hope all of you had a great holiday and are starting 2013 off right. I know I'm definitely looking forward to all the things this year's going to have in store; lots of big, wonderful changes that seem to be coming way sooner than later. About 14 followers shy of the big 300!

I seriously can't believe I have this many people clicking that 'follow' button at the top of my page; people actually reading the things that I say and finding it helpful? And to be almost to300(though I'm sure it's nothing compared to Bry's, it's a lot for a regular doctor in LA...well, one that isn't a plastic surgeon). Anyway, I just wanted to thank all of you guys for following me and for all of the support you've given Bryan and I. It doesn't go unnoticed.

I'd also like to wish all of you a Happy Holiday, may they be spent singing carols and eating way too much and enjoying the ones you love--I know I will be. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah everyone!
