I’ve just realized something: Jon can keep his glasses but Edward can’t? How is that fair? Why not just get him contacts then if he’s never going to get his glasses back? I’m never shutting up about it, I’m too invested in the glasses lore.

Dr Crane: Since I’m a doctor personal items cannot be confiscated… however if you have a complaint or wish to retrieve something for an inmate you can take it up with Bolton…

Nightmare screaming during therapy sessions is something that I’d like to witness. Jon can’t get one word in without Nightmare interrupting the session. Nightmare, please don’t disturb your father while he’s woking.

Edward: I fear that his hair color isn't as pressing as the fact he CUT his hair! I could forgive it fading, it's only natural, but CUTTING IT? That's a choice and a bad one. If my hair got that long I would never even think of trimming more than an inch!

Do you have any book recs for us, Dr. Crane?

Dr. Crane: Do I ever...

(A/N: Hopefully this read more thing looks good, I'm posting this on mobile. Anyways, a lot under read more maybe....)

Dr Crane: First of, it's important to consider the classics, as they're often overlooked because of their movie adaptations, which are never book accurate.

Such as Frankenstein, also known as the Modern Prometheus, Mary Shelley is amazing at creating morally grey characters that aren't as commonly seen nowadays. It's an amazing dissection of humanity fighting nature and flying too close to the sun. But it's also a commentary of nature vs nurture, and how two beings meant to love each other can also destroy each other. Of course I'd be idiotic to not mention the other characters besides Victor and his creation, such as Henry Clerval Victor's best friend, who serves as his foil, and is rarely ever seen depicted in movies. Then there's Elizabeth Lavenza, Victor's adopted cousin, who is described as good tempered, yet playful, however she is pushed aside in the book for... reasons I will not spoil.

Next, naturally there is Dracula. Yes I know, we've all seen how vampires are treated in the modern era, all sparkly in the sun, and romantic, disappointing. But if you want to really experience what true vampires should be, this is a must read. The book comments on women's status in society at the time and creates a somewhat clever subversion of gender roles. Much like Frankenstein it's hard to find a book accurate movie. Funnily enough, Nosferatu is the most accurate movie I've personally seen. Did you know that Dracula has a cowboy in it? A cowboy that becomes a key player in helping save the character of Lucy Westenra.

Finally if you're looking for something a little more 'modern' you should look towards Carrie. It's the usual Stephen King craziness, but beneath that is a story about religious trauma, repression, and isolation from others. That is until we see her boil over into a chilling climatic ending that I'm sure everyone's heard about. Carrie is a story about abuse and bullying, and how that all cultivates into aggression and pain. It's a story that makes you route for the so called villain, who everyone can fairly state is also a victim
