I’m doing well. Days have been rainy lately, which are good for the flowers living outside, and the plants on my bedroom window.

I also have a decrease in customer traffic on such days, but honestly, I’m not opposed to that..

Hi Galvan & Denki! Happy anniversary you guys!!

Wow! Thank you, you remembered our debut anniversary, I’m really thankful!

Our UTAU debut was May 14th, 2013! Sadly our Voice Provider hasn’t been able to do much to celebrate throughout the years, but stay tuned for a small bonus.

...Quite the opposite. He neglects me. But for good reason - and a reason I understand all too well.

But he’s been telling me that after some major projects, he want to give me more voicebanks and a proper release. So I suppose that’s something to look forward to.

Her business and mine are completely opposite - her’s focuses on antiques and restoration while mine is more oriented towards future tech. Yet, it’s strange how such a rivalry can form based on different focuses of machinery…

I love all your work (And Caeles') (And Denki Sai's) (And Steel's, but I don't want to break the 4th wall, so shhh D:) and I'm glad that you're feeling better, but don't push yourself too hard! :3

I did like how Butterfly on your Right Shoulder came out, and Seven Color Morning. I’d like to retake Meteor (by John Zeroness) and possibly a Camellia song too. Systematic Love? Jet Black? For entirely new songs, not sure yet… I’d like to broaden my range to louder or more dynamic songs - Lost Time Memory by Jin, for instance, and Dim, by Lemm - but I’m just a smidge too shy, and possibly not skilled enough to do the songs justice. Maybe someday…Thank you for your kind compliments on behalf of Denki! And Caeles, too.

Hmm, perhaps I didn’t choose the best song as an example - I generally don’t sound great on upbeat genres of songs due to my dark and airy tone, but I hope some of this helps!

Basically, don’t be afraid to “break” consistency in your voice and get a bit gritty and dynamic. Think about what a vocalist might sound like, or even feel like, when they sing a melancholy piece, or an intense piece. Try studying and imitating some of the interesting elements of those voices, too. You might discover some fascinating results when you experiment.

Singing with more emotion is an interesting topic. When I first made my debut as an UTAU, my voice actually wasn't very expressive. In fact, quite the opposite - my voice was on the restrained side.. It sounded like I didn't really want to sing... 

So to improve, I actually looked towards human singers to develop a more expressive sound, because I wanted to sound as good as them!

Most UTAU will have a pretty consistent, and clean sound to them, they will sing songs and sound stable throughout them because they will sing that in one way.

But a more expressive sound requires that extra ‘oomph’ in both the consonants and the vowels... a bit more air, a bit more crispness and strength in the consonants, a bit more vocal fry.
