Can you please walk me through your thought process when writing "Such Words", because I'm still trying to figure out how you thought any of that story formed a single cohesive idea.

First of all, sorry anon, I’m a little confused since this is my old inactive Axl sideblog- his current active blog is here. I haven’t used this one in a couple years now. I’m also not sure at all what you’re referring to by “Such Words”, I can’t remember writing anything with that title. Can you point me to the post/fic in question, or link it for me?

Also as a quick note, I’d like to point out that this is a bit of a rude way to approach anyone, particularly when asking a writer about one of their words. Constructive criticism is always appreciated, but try to keep in mind your tone and the way you word things when trying to offer critique? It’ll help the writer out much more in the long run.))

OOC: Housekeeping Post, important

IMPORTANT STUFF GUYS.

So to tell you the truth, when I started this blog I actually didn't expect it to be anything more than a silly little ask blog. I haven't roleplayed in years, I didn't expect people to just suddenly show up and start interacting with Axl- nor did I realize it'd be so entertaining to go off interacting with them right back.

Right now, this blog is a secondary; Axl can't follow people or ask them questions. As I found out today, this being a secondary also means that the posts I make here accrue towards the post limit on my personal.

That...doesn't work so well when you're roleplaying. Heh.

So you might've noticed a minor url change- that's because the mun has made the official decision that Axl is moving!

Well, sort of.

I went ahead and made a separate tumblr account so that Axl can be a primary blog instead of a secondary. All questions and other bits and pieces from this point will be shifted over- including in-progress RP's. Do note, however, that since it's a separate account now, the mun might be a little slower at replying to things. She promises that she'll always get to everything at one point or another, so don't fret and be patient with her.

Zero stared back at him, mulling over what Axl had said. “..or..? Or you trust yourself and make it work.” He nodded. “We’re battle bots, we’re meant to take risks. After all, if you don’t, it might be worse, wouldn’t it? You can try and maybe screw up, or you can not even try. What’s worse?”

“This isn’t the same as charging into battle and you know it. I don’t know what’s worse. I don’t know. Dammit…” Axl leaned forward and held his head in his hands. “Why’d they have to build Reploids with the capacity to love, anyway?”

Zero sighed softly, running a hand through his own hair and ruffling it slightly - of course, it still looked flawless. “..We’d all basically be Maverick if we didn’t have compassion - Which is one of the reasons why X’s so strong. He’s the most human of us all, after all..”

"Yeah," Axl agreed softly. "He is. I wish I could be more like him. He's always so sure of what he's feeling..."

He laughed. “That’s for sure.. Just ask her to go out!” Then, Zero mimicked the others voice the best way he could. ” ‘U..Uhm.. I was wondering.. if.. sometime you’d like to hang out.. with each other, I mean..’ ” A smirk spread back onto his lips. 

“Sh-shut up! Stop that!” Axl was blushing madly, unsure if he should wallop his friend upside the head or die of complete mortification. “I-I can’t just- it isn’t that easy, Zero!”

He snickered deviously, then coughed into his hand and took a breath. “Okay, okay. I’m done teasing you.” Zero smiled. “I know it’s not that easy.”

“Yeah, don’t you know it,” Axl mumbled. “Like you could just walk up to X and ask him to go out without stuttering hopelessly.” He sighed. “I just don’t….I’m afraid I’ll say something stupid. I’ll mess everything up.”

Zero lifted his eyebrows “We’re already very close friends, and work partners, it’s different.” He listened to Axl finish his statement before continuing. “.. Isn’t that normal? If she likes you, then I’m sure that if you stutter over your words, she’ll just laugh and find it cute in some odd way. I do when X gets embarrassed, after all.”

“That’s not the kind of ‘going out’ I was talking about, Zero,” Axl added. “I’m not- I’m not talking about stuttering or being shy, I mean….” He finally dared to look up and meet his friend’s gaze. “I mean what if I say the wrong thing or move too fast or upset her or…o-or….”

“She’s…” Axl began to smile faintly. “She’s really easy to talk to. And she gives good advice when she’s navigating. She taught me a bit about engineering parts from rare metals too. It’s….” He finally lifted his head, brushing his hair out of his face. “It’s when I’m not around her that I get all confused and…and you know. Like this.”

Zero smiled more as Axl went on about Pallette, watching the others facial expressions. “..I think you should.. ask her to go out some time, be with her outside of work, you know?” He hummed, leaning back and bringing his hands up above his head in a stretch. “..It’d be good for you.”

“N-no!” Axl cried. “No way! I-I can’t!”

“I guess so….” A faint flush of color had appeared in Axl’s cheeks. Of course he trusted Zero; that didn’t mean he knew what on earth he was getting himself into. “I-I…I’ve been…meaning to talk to Pallette lately, I suppose,” he mumbled. “A-at least I think…I have…”
