According to old tales, these Pokemon are stumps possessed by spirits of children who died while lost in the forest. This is Murphtree. Hes not owned by anyone, but he does like to stay with Evan Hansen. He was found at an old abandoned orchard said to be where a boy around Evan's age had died.

WHAT HAPPENED TO CONNOR'S POKEMON WOAOHH NOW THAT HE'S D E A D??

{Mod here! Connor’s Type: Null and Shuppet both wen’t to Evan. Shuppet for future story reasons we will see soon and Type: Null because Evan reminded it of its previous owner. Type: Null had such a strong bond with Evan is even managed to ‘evolve’ into Sylvally! Which to Evan was p’ heckin cool. Connor’s other pokemon tend to stay with his family, preferably Zoe.}

Does Evan have any Pokemon? Jared too maybe?

I'm sorry if I'm bugging you but I just want to make sure. So Connor is the Dead Tree Thing, and Evan is not dead. Yes?

{Mod will answer this one. Yes!! Connor is in fact Phantump. He was found in/at the edge of the orchard.  Evan is not dead, Evan is very much alive. There have been times where I have drawn Evan as Yamask with Murphtree on my main but thats because of a totally different au based on this au. I hope this helped.}

E: I uhm…I found him with his eyes like that. Alana says that m-maybe he just has the eye colors he had when…when he was alive…

How long have you been a small tree creature??

E: He doesn’t talk much about his family but he says he does wish he’d treated his sister better before he died. We’re learning little things about him every now and again but he doesn’t like to explain a lot. Jared’s Rotom Dex helps translate things.

Do you ever regret dying?

Evan: I can say that he does regret dying. He tells me it was an accident, that he didn’t mean to die and he was intending on doing something else. He doesn’t say what, but thats all I’ve got of his back story so far.
