Hey Rick, any survival tips you can give me?

If you asked me this years ago I’d have a different answer, if you asked me this last year I’d have a different answer, so this response is after years of experience and I might be biased based on those experiences. 

1. Trust only a few and be careful with who you branch out that trust to, that’s the main thing. When numbers get too large, it can attract all sorts of attention and reactions from people outside that group and people within it. So be careful of trust. Always have a select few that you know have your back forever. 

2. Be careful of power, whether you’re wielding it or someone else is. Don’t let it get to your head and be able to recognize when it’s gone to someone else’s. 

3. Love the people you trust. That will get you through the world. Remember kindness, but don’t be kind to strangers - be cautious. 

4. Look, at this point I’ll be honest. I wish it was just me and my family living in a small place where no one knows who or where we are. But I have all these people now and we’re stuck in this situation together and it’s not good. That might be selfish and terrible but I need to be honest. Big communities look and seem great but they’re not always the most beneficial. I know it’s what’s going to get us through this thing in the long run, I do, they’re rebuilding civilization and they’re brave enough and stupid enough to try it. But after losing who I’ve lost, I’m just done, and kind of wish we could go back to obscurity in the world. 

But maybe ask me this in another year and I’ll have a different answer.
