well, i cant say i didnt see this one coming…

my laptop finally bit the dust. im already saving up for a new one, and i have access to my roommate’s computer for now - but yeah, probably no new updates for a while.

life update pt2

hello again! things are still pretty crazy on my end, but its finally starting to calm down and feel like routine. to recap, i moved into a city apartment with a close friend. im still getting settled, but i got a job waitressing at a seafood restaurant and its giving me enough income to get by. overall, things are going well, the job is working out, my roommate is the best, and even though the apartment is still missing a few things, im doing very well right now. hopefully ill be able to start drawing and posting art again soon. sorry i was gone for so long! Thanks for sticking around!

Sorry for all the inactivity lately! im in the process of moving to my own place, and between the driving back and forth, job hunting, and trying to get settled in, I havent had time for much else. once things get more stable, ill start updating again. thanks for being so patient with me!

((first off - I really don’t know very much!! I’m still on a very beginner level. i still have a lot to learn…ive only taken two semesters of an ASL class at community college. i can carry a basic conversation as long as the other person goes very slowly, and repeats themselves often, ha…i have to give most of the credit to my Deaf teacher, she was hilarious and fun, and it definitely added more motivation to learn quickly! she also taught us a lot about Deaf culture and social norms, something i might not have gotten with a hearing teacher.it was an environment that encouraged you to mess up and make mistakes and not be perfect - the main point of the class was communication, not things like grammar or syntax. those could come later. ive never taken a language class like that before, and as a learning environment, i adored it. i also went to a few Deaf silent dinners in the area, which is mostly for Deaf people in the community to meet up at a restaurant and chat, and for ASL students to practice  - its incredible how much you pick up in natural conversations like that.im a bit out of practice, to be honest…id like to take another class in the fall, but im not sure if it’ll work out. fingers crossed…))

What am I supposed to be looking for?

I'll try to explain again.

Nations blend into crowds more than humans do. It's very hard to catch! But it's there. Makes sense though, doesn't it? Since they are their people, or their military, or what have you. And as a survival mechanism, the less an immortal being stands out, the better, right? Does it make sense?

I suppose.... Is that why I didn't really notice Officer Beilschmidt around camp, before I knew who he was?

Yep, exactly! He's good at sneaking up on the other soldiers that way, too. Keeps them on their toes, ha....

But, sir.......I still don't understand. How do I spot someone that doesn't stand out?

Oho! That's exactly how you spot them! If they're in a crowd, your eyes will skim over them without meaning to. Once you're able to recognize what that feels like, you'll be able to pick them out. Just scan your eyes back and forth. Now that you know what you're looking for, just try to relax your vision a bit, and see if anything feels strange.

"Strange"....all right.
