Let's try this again.

Welcome to my new DoL blog that I'll use to post anything DoL related as well as interact with other DoL blogs. I openly encourage playing toys with our ocs and doing whatever you want with mine. This all spawns from a sandbox game after all so canon or otherwise its all allowed. I'll make a dedicated post later but at least for now my main focus will the namesake of this account, Aspen the Outsider. The ominous figure who lives in the woods and is always accompanied by the fog. They seem connected to all the weird stuff happening in this town.

Notable NPC relations with Aspen.

Eden: Bitter foes. While Aspen only really considers Eden a nuisance at best, they recognize the threat they pose and sparingly messes around with him. From Eden's perspective, however, Aspen is a monster in the woods, one of those "worse things than him" that he mentions. Aspen occasionally helps the PC escape Eden by chance when they wander into their fog during their attempt to run away.

Alex: An amicable relationship. Living between the town and the farm, Aspen chooses to do most of their shopping directly from the producer instead of going to the store in town. Pays well and is courteous.

Harper: Something of a rival, colleague, and play mate. They share a lot in common being the towns only medical practitioners with dubious morals and a tendency to sexually abuse their patients. The key difference is that Harper is an actual doctor while Aspen deals more so with alchemical counterparts to medicine and doesn't deal with hypnosis but rather more short term influence. They sometimes visit Harper to give them a taste of their own medicine, if only to keep them on their toes and more enthusiastic about their work.

Jordan: Begrudgingly allied. Aspen caused a whole scene showing up in their secret sanctum but eventually they worked something out by allowing them to be an honorary member of the church for the sake of maintaining certain magical seals. They like to rile up the monks and nuns for fun.

Thinking about Aspen's similarities to the Ivory Wraith and what that means for the lore. People probably mistake the two for each other on the occasion. I'll write something up about this later methinks.

A spirit of the fog not from this world, here to start something new. Aspen is a strange being, Appearing as others want them to be. Taking on a form fitting in each person's eyes as masculine or feminine and everything between or outside. Driven by curiosity they seem to have gotten themselves tied up in all the weird things going on in this town, Often found anywhere the strangeness has taken root. Remarkably hard to find outside of chance they have a tendency to push themselves into the lives of people who interest them, hardly taking no for an answer. With the ability to move with the fog they seem to just appear or disappear at will, Often at the expense of others. Aspen is a faeish sort, Not actively malicious nor benevolent. They toy with the people who catch their interest, Inciting arousal through various means but most commonly via aphrodisiacs carried through the mist and a complete lack of personal space or common decency. Though they may have a tendency to get people hot and bothered they rarely take it any further, Seeming to derive fulfillment in altering the mental state of those around them as if by their own nature rather than any ill intent. Those who put up with their antics find a potent friend and resource as they have access to a variety of alchemical and magical services they can perform for a cost. Changing the way people think and feel is their trade if you can afford what they ask of you. Another new PC! Madeleine The Misplaced/The Villainess! I wanted to make a villainess isekai genre oc and then I put her in DoL... She was reverse-isekai'd at the moment of her death into the body of an orphan who was dying at the same time at her, so now she has to get used to modern sensibilities and the ecosystem of DoL's town. Meanwhile, everyone just believes she has amnesia and has come down with something after a TBI. But she insists she is the King of The Red Snow. At least their names match up.

Having been royalty before, her goal is conquest, starting with the town. She's willing to use mundane and supernatural means to her advantage, and tends to work hard to ingratiate herself to potential subjects while she plans her coups of the Temple, the Cult, and the mayor.

...She doesn't know what an "election" is.

She becomes more ruthless and cutthroat overtime, but has strong moral lines she refuses to cross. She crossed them in a past life and suffered the consequences—She wants to right the past that haunts her, that nobody believes she truly suffered.

She is more than willing to accept other orphans under her wing, of course. Anyone who can dedicate themself to the cause is a person who can bring honor to a King.
