"The Underwater Soundlab" - Barge project (Second year 2013)
The Underwater soundly provides a future community a place to learn and explore the sounds that exist and affect the life under water. When the sea level rises, we have to adapt to a new way of living on and perhaps even under water.
If we are preparing for a future life on water, we need to take care of the resources we have under water as they will be our main resource in the future.
Under water noise from mostly human activity on water have a huge impact on the marine biology and can be fatal for the species under water.
The sound lab with it's sound channel tube and proper equipment will be a research lab to analyze and explore our opportunities and the impact we will have on our own future living situation.
By opening up the lab for the community, people will have the opportunity to learn and explore the sounds from the water and see how the scientists work.
"Projecting new light" (First year, 2013)
Project: Create an extension to the Grand Parade building in Brighton for an exhibition space and an artist in residence.
Exhibition for old photographic equipment and photos.
The space extends out in the courtyard of Grand Parade to involve the students and the visitors to the new exhibition space. It also allows the space to be used as an exterior public space with its concrete stairs and platform which you can use as a part of the courtyard.
The space is aligned so the exhibition gets a reflective natural light from the sun, and can be opened up or closed of with the shutters on the windows to protect the objects and create a multifunctional space.
"Ways of Seeing" - Site specific camera (First year, 2013)
