I've heard a lot of horror stories about players autohitting, causing permanent damage to characters without discussion, teens being bullies when they were allowed, and certain people not really having the rules applied to them with BBI over the past year+ and I wanted to ask if that had changed at all now that the server is getting promoted again? I know a few people who were done really dirty by other members and a mod in BBI so I'd like to know if those problems had been fixed...

I’m not going to bullshit you, most of those stories are true. And I’m going to have to type a lot to really address each thing in this ask, so bear with me.

First regarding the mods, I want to just take full accountability for that mess. I was the administrator after all so its not like they went rogue. I was a bad leader then, made awful calls, and pretty much flipflopped all the time with garbage compromises rather than setting my foot down and standing up for what I thought was right. That was MY bad.

Since then, I have taken a whole two, almost three years to better myself as a whole and I want to say I like where I’m at now? Is that fair? For example, a lot of my views then on a lot of topics were awful until I actually finished my education and got my degree.

Anyways back on topic, there is no mod team at the moment. Its really just me, and the reason for that is:

1) The community is still small and not big enough to warrant any.

2) I’m available almost always.

3) Honestly, I want to do it alone as a test to see if I really have changed at all. So far so good, but then again nothing’s really happened so far.

Regarding the community, while I try to be as inclusive as possible, I can’t always be so. Part of running a good place I’ve found is that the community needs to be curated. At the end of the day, you want to promote and support a community you want versus just being an open community. For the most part, I’m doing so and it includes a large variety of people. One of my big takeaways also is that I’m better at handling situations in my own playing field. So the server is restricted to adults only so that rules can be applied evenly.

The rules have also been dramatically changed and simplified. You can read them here if you want. I’m going for simplicity because its easier to remember and follow. Enforcement wise, I first look to myself, and then the community as a double check of sorts.

I think that answers everything in the ask. If not, first, I’m sorry, I literally just woke up- please ask again with what you want answered or explained.

the tldr here is: I acknowledge that my setting has gotten a bad reputation, but ultimately it was because of me as a setting owner. There’s so much I could have done to turn things around but I just wasn’t a proper leader yet. Things are different now, or so I’d like to hope.
