@assovertiddy
little video I made with the boys
Can I get a kiss?
Yes meri jaan
what if i write a chaotic ass film but can't find producers to get it made?
my girlfriend made this for me. 😭😭😭😭
Joram (2023, Devashish Makhija)
Lets talk about films. Joram released. Don't worry if you haven't heard about it. Nobody has. It's made by Zee studios and they've decided its not for everybody so the film won't receive any marketing. The sole reason I found about its existence is due to the Jio MAMI schedule and since I couldn't attend the film festival, I waited for its theatrical release. Watch it if you can, support theaters and the good films around you.
It's such an extremely unique premise. The cinematography is exquisite. The storytelling is so beautiful, it has social commentary embedded in it. The groundwork for an amazing story yes. And it delivers most of it to my obvious delight. It is in theaters right now. Go watch.
Animal (2023, Sandeep Reddy Vanga)
Let's talk about films. Animal broke out at the box office; it's still breaking collections. Every damn day. Why is this happening even though people are criticizing the film left and right, a few others defending it as though "Vanga unka hi papa hai". What do I think about all of this? I would say yeh toh hona hi tha.
Films like these are the only reasons that theaters can survive and make lots of money. So why won't producers make films like these which help them generate the income they need? Ask yourself when's the last time you've watched a low-budget film on the big screen? Vanga's formula has worked. You've also successfully generated a few Vanga's who will take his place in the future. Continuing this trend of badly written characters dominating the big screen. A friend of mine told me this "Achi filmein toh pirate karke ghar pe dekhte, theater mein dekhne ke liye aisi filmein hi achi hoti hai" As a person who wants to make films, to make good films this is scary because what do you mean you wouldn't want to see my films on the big screen unless there's violence in it; can't I make a good drama and have that move you? Like Avinash Arun's Three of Us? Like VVC's 12th fail? Both films which had me sobbing in the theater in a sophisticated crowd who enjoyed both films thoroughly.
I wouldn't say films like Animal shouldn't be made. But these films are made because you go pay and watch them. So do millions of others. If you'd been watching the good films then they'd put their money there. Go watch a good low-budget film, you'll probably feel much better than you did while you watched Animal. If you loved Animal, I'm sure your brain is so smooth I'd be able to see my reflection in it.
i need bollywoods romcom era back please i cant handle any more of these violent toxic alpha male lead movies (i read animal spoilers because mai kya meri jooti bhi wo film dekhne naa jaaye but i was curious ki koi insan ek aadmi ko kitna toxic bana sakta hai) and im like i need green flag boys era back please jo violent hote bhi the to for a good cause. like i get wanting to have fucked up characters but in a country where young boys are stupid af and treat these alpha male characters as the epitome of masculinity and aspire to be like them (lets be honest we have all seen some boys in our schools go crazy over and/or wanting to be like kabir singh). and the film having an adult certificate does NOT matter because we all know if one WANTS to see it they will see it irrespective of their age. in a country where cinema influences so many people its just poor taste (AND harmful for women espcially in smaller conservative town and villages) to make movies on such characters without making the audience HATE them. and the portrayal of women in these kind of movies makes me want to BARF. it just makes my skin crawl that a movie like this is getting all the money and people aren't appreciating sambahadur because that one is AT LEAST an inspiring story.
