Kaaras’ eyes dropped to the now empty potion phial that was between them. He just smiled, giving the other qunari a soft expression. “It’s still wise to let some wounds heal on their own.” Potions were good on the battlefield, a life saver in their own right. A quick way to retreat if needed, or to kill, or to get back on your feet for any reason, really. But it was good to see some healers being traditional. It was better for the body to know how to heal itself and not always rely on other means.
As Akaari spoke, the Inquisitor looked out across the little pool of water. He was aware of the trouble that would come, aware of the fights he would have to command soldiers through. But he could not afford to be seen faltering. He was their Inquisitor, and he would do right by them. He would keep their heads up and shoulders back.
“We do this together, as a team,” he said, taking the hand and pulling himself up. He laughed softly as he realised just how tall the other man was, and a small blush went across his cheeks.
“You’re very tall…” he commented, “Or… well… I’m very short, but still. I think I will feel safe with you on my back out there.” His ears fell. “Maker, I do hope I did not offend you, I am used to being on the shorter side of qunari.” He was rambling now, and he closed his mouth, rubbing the back of his neck.
Akaari was rather average for their people, towering over most and able to easily sweep his eyes through a crowd without being hampered. He always liked how tall he was and how it startled most folk, those who had to tilt their heads so far back just to be able to meet his eyes. The fluster from the Herald only made Akaari chuckle, reaching out and clamping a heavy hand along his shoulder. Stammering he could handle, it was endearing really, that he’d care so much about offending him over something like this. “Don’t worry, I got your back out there. And I can reach the extra high shelves,” A tease as he moved with him back toward camp.
“I do appreciate you sitting with me, I like getitng to know the guy I’m fighting for. And you’re a good one— I’m happy to fight this cause for ya.”
