[He walks over picking up a little pot.]

Well then I suggest this little guy.

[He smiles, giving him a bulb with lots of leaves.]

And we have pots if you’d like.

And what is this little guy?

[He asks holding it up to eye level looking at the little plant, poking a leaf]

And yes I’ll need a pot, I don’t have any.

So new York is your home then? No more desert walking? I would hate to give a plant to someone who would leave them?

Ah – well, perhaps I do.

It is. I am stateside on my contract now, no more deployments, roots settled and ready to help settle some other roots.

[He chuckles.]

oh really. well then they are very beautiful.

They like the sun, makes them happy. I imagine it makes you a bit miserable.

[He looks him over with a small smile.]

Are you trying to say I am pretty then?

Only if I get caught without my gear.

[He laughs a smirk resting on his lips when it ended.]

I may have implied it, if you want to take it as that.

Yes but they won’t get a sunburn like a daywalker might.

[He smirks.]

The lilies are mopey, so I seem mopey?

[He chuckles]

I think they’re pretty, though I am partial to sunflowers, tall and bright.

[Georgia sits tiredly on the bench at the bus stop, leaning forward to rest her head in her hands.] 

Wake me up when the bus is here. There’s no money in my wallet, so don’t bother.

How do you plan to get on the bus without money Miss Ballerina?

[Holden cleared his throat.]

[Astor laughs]

Who do you bond with then? A sunflower? lily?

[holden-ainsley]

Oh well I am sure you’re uh – wife could water one for you.

[Holden winces because that was not slick at all.]

I think a succulent would be best, cute little desert plants that don’t need much water – so, you know, you could bond over being in the desert.

That would kill it even faster than I could. 

[He laughs]

We could bond over being hot and sunburned all the time, perfect

[Georgia turns and looks down.] 

So it is. Thank you. [She smiles and turns so she can zip the bag.]

[Astor nods before sitting back against the bench, taking a drag of his cigarette.]

[Astor nods, carrying the plant over to the register.]

Can I get a small plant too? One for myself, maybe that I can’t kill easily?

[He smiles.]

Wow! That’s so big! Jeeze.

So you can see why I owe my friends flowers, having to take care of a giant dog.
