“Ew no.” Jina comments in disbelief to the blonde haired girl. Shaking her head in reply to the younger girl. “I’m not in on the whole valentines day thing.”
“Yah, I figured out. I was joking.” Astrid smiled.

“Uh… What?” Jina asks with a confused look on her face in reply to the blonde haired girl.

Astrid threw her hammer, slowing down the monster and lifted her head. She was surprised to see a boy on the tree. “What are you doing up there ?”, she whispered as well.
“Trying to save your life..climb up.” He gestured her hurriedly. “I grew up in the woods..and trolls are horrible climbers.”
Astrid smiled curiously at the camper. “Yeah.. I know that.” Then she climbed next to him. “Do you have a weapon ?”

Astrid was in the forrest, simply holding a hammer and without her usual tools. She looked for some special rocks and felt cold air on her neck. She turned around to face the monster. “Well.. now I may need help.”
Damien was taking a stroll around the woods when he heard the sound of a troll. He stalked towards the sound and spotted the girl. Climbing up a tree, he whisper. “Psst…over here..”

Astrid rolled her eyes. She was not going to debate about her own intelligence. She knew she graduated a great university and whatever else about it. She decided to go straight with it. “I’m a daughter of Hephaestus, I like to elaborate things, create new technologies. We’re working on spying birds, thought you may like it. But if you’re too smart for it..”
Now it was Cora’s turn to roll her eyes. She’d studied drones months ago, but it seemed like the other girl wasn’t going to go away and Cora didn’t feel like moving, so she obliged. I suppose it could be interesting topic. I assume, since you’re a a demigod inventor, that they’re shaped like birds? I’d be interested to know the internal mechanics.”
Astrid nodded. “They do, my brother came up with the idea. If someone finds it, it’ll automatically explode.”, she rolled her eyes, this was a bit extra. “I don’t think they would be happy if they knew I talked to you. But I think Hephaestus and Athena’s children should team up.”

Astrid calmly leaned on her chair, narrowing her eyes at Cora. “Everyone in this camp had to survive on their own. So I think you’re wrongly trying to feel good about yourself with an useless affirmation.”, she wriggled her eyebrows. “I saw you were smart, and wanted to share something with you, that’s why I wanted to talk to you. But smart people are open minded, I see that’s not your case.”
“You misunderstand. I’m sure you and everyone else have done adequate jobs with your own survival, but I’m not attempting to boast. I’m stating a fact. If I’ve survived this long on my own, then I can continue surviving alone for as long as necessary.” Cora rolled her eyes. “Wrong. Intelligent people are open to new information, not talking to every stranger that sits next to them. You’re confusing intelligence with extroversion. I assume you have the latter, not the former.”

“I don’t need your or anyone’s help.” Cora replied sharply, getting to her feet. “I’ve done a well enough job surviving on my own. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have better things to do than provide you with the opportunity to feel good about yourself for pretending to ‘protect me’ or whatever bullshit excuse you can come up with.”

Cora shifted away from the girl, pulling her own book closer to her body. “I don’t do sharing, and I’m sure there are a dozen other people you could bother in this ‘tiny camp’.”
“I’m not joking. In this camp we help each other to survive and this has to do with sharing.”, Astrid smiled and tilted her head. “And you’re right, but I chose you.”
Cora frowned at the book she was reading- or, to be more specific, the shadow that was covering it. When it didn’t move away after a minute, she sighed and looked up, narrowing her eyes. “What do you want? Can’t you see I’m busy?”
