--- astrid found herself almost running away from the resistance ship, needing a total break from missions, and being the smart girl, and everything in between. it was moments like this that she missed her mother, her strength and constant level mind. she then heard the call of her name over her shoulder. it made her snap and get lost in her thoughts ( which were mainly, ‘ are you f*cking kidding me? ’ ). “ ...yes? ”
— astrid rolled her eyes, sinking back into her booth as food was set down on the table. “ okay, weirdo. ” she quickly dismissed. she didn’t quite understand the game he was playing ( or if he was playing one at all ) , taking another bite of food and looking over the scene of characters that took up space. astrid found herself making another attempt at small talk towards the man. “ it’s crowded tonight, isn’t it? ”
Jaden kept his head low but his awareness stretched passed his corporeal being. Looking across the castle, he felt nothing new from what he was aware of already. The already obvious state of Holocron was almost deafening if he didn’t close himself off to it. “ People getting in their celebrations before the war starts.” Dryly speaking.
--- “ well, i wish i could say you were wrong, ” she quickly stated rather quietly, looking over across the table at him. astrid’s head was c o n s t a n t l y filled with some new idea to outrun the first order and swoop in before it was too late. “ it seems like trouble is everywhere. ”

— astrid found herself laughing alongside zamsea, pointing at it. “ that was my youth cotillion, something my village hosted in naboo, ” she took another sip,remembering back on the insanity of the day. “ basically, an excuse for my mother to show me off, and i made sure i looked as flashy as can be. ”
“I didn’t know you were from Naboo. I’m from Chandrila. So not too different, I suppose. Is it true you guys have a monarch? Ours was mostly democratic. We rarely got stuff done though. I figure it’d be a lot easier if someone was a monarch.” She smiled but shook her head. “I can’t believe your mother put you in cotillion. I immediately refused when my mother tried that stuff.”
--- “ i am, my mother was head of the events district. ” astrid said quickly, trying to mask the hurt that flashed over her eyes. she thought back, thinking of her home planet. “ we have a queen, very democratic in choices, however. my mother wanted to parade me around to all the people she worked for. ”
— “ you can calm down, you look as tense as a plank of wood.” she quickly said, sending a smirk at him from across the table. astrid lifted the cup to her lips again, peering over the glass to meet his eyes. one of her hands extended out to shake his. “ astrid, a pleasure. ”
Jaden leaned forwards, one of his hands underneath the table, at the ready position with his blaster. “ I’m not upset, if I were upset, you would know.” Jaden clutched her hand, but his gaze did not leave her’s, trouble tended to drift into the Castle, and he was not one to discount trouble after the hell he raised with the First Order.

— astrid let out a heartly chuckle, gently shoving the girl out of comfort. “ what are you talking about, zamsea? you look adorable with that haircut! ” she started to laugh more, pulling out another one of her photos, a rather gaudy look from somewhere near the age of 13. “ now this? i’ll never understand how mother let me out of the house with dark blue eyeshadow everywhere! ”
“Ah. At least your mother let you wear eyeshadow! From approximately the beginning of my life to the point where I left, she was telling me, ‘no low cut shirts’ and ‘no make up’. It was torture. Torture!” She leaned into her shove, cheeks flushing from her drink as she looked at the photo. “Not so bad! You were adorable too! Just look at that lipliner. Someone was goin’ OUT.”

— “ since when has their ever been ownership over the booths? ” Astrid asked, tilting her head up at Jaden. She raked over his defensive stance, noticing the annoyance that was appearing on his face. It caused her to chuckle, pointing to the other side of the small booth and sipping her now half empty drink. “ you’re more than welcome to join me, however. ”
Jaden Korr, knew that this was a hotbed of tense emotions sometimes. Maz’s rules on no fighting were staunchly implemented, and many of the characters were still decisively bloodthirsty or dangerous. Seeing her offer him a seat without a threat of posturing with a blaster, made him all the more alert. Interests peaked, he watched where her hands were before sliding into the other side of the booth, “ Jaden.”

— astrid immediately froze, the stolen first order uniform’s collar now restricting her breathing. silently, she cursed at herself to choosing to go on the mission ( who sends the strategist on a mission, anyway? ) , now face to face with the leader of the nights of ren. “ i was just on my way to the bridge, commander ren. i apologize for disturbing you. ”
kylo angled his head to see who he was speaking to, and his eyes landed on a female first order officer. sighing impatiently, he waved a hand in dismissal, his mind preoccupied with what he had been planning to discuss with snoke. but then he took notice of something; she was traveling alone. officers almost always traveled either in pairs, groups, or with the stormtroopers. this was a rare occurrence. “the bridge? what business are you tending to at the moment, i ask?”
--- “ general hux asked for me specifically, commander. ” she said, keeping her cool as the leader stared her down. one the inside, however, the woman was trembling, something she was sure other first order officers must feel while in front of their intimidating commander. “ it was something about giving me an assignment. ”
“It was a mixture of several different things actually…alcohol, a little bit of goading and a lot…A LOT of sleep deprivation. But either way.” She showed them the datapad, sipping on her drink (*also alcoholic). “Here’s a photo of me with short hair. I hated it, and I looked like a chipmunk.”

something was off. there was an imbalance in the force, though kylo couldn’t quite put his finger on it, he felt it. the young leader had always been full of angst and disdain, but lately the anger he felt had multiplied. he needed to find luke skywalker, to evoke his revenge on the jedi master for the past that haunted kylo every day of his life. days went by and no progress was made. was everyone simply slacking and not doing their part in this mission? this was getting tedious and he had to do something about it. as he stormed down the hallway towards leader snoke’s throne room to express his concerns, he halted when he felt the presence of someone directly behind him. “are you going to stand there like a coward or speak up? i have a meeting to attend to.”

On some backwater world, Grey Squadron settled in after a successful raid on First Order heavy freighter transport. Specifically, the privateer crew seized valuable supplies which were handed off to the Resistance. Now it was time for a drink and what better place to go for on was at Maz’s Castle. Jaden Korr hadn’t graced the castle in cycles and he was really earnestly hoping for a relaxing evening.” um excuse me, I haven’t been here in awhile but…that’s my booth.”
