Persephone looked over the stores, she had come to investigate the town that Hades was obsessed with, but she couldn't comprehend what attracted him. The town was a disgusting, a cesspool of spoiled dreams and false pleasure.  She could sense the sadness, the darkness that the town had seen, it was as tangible to the goddess as the pain that she carried with her. 

"Who would be foolish enough to bring a town to the underworld?" She questioned aloud, observing the residents. She looked harmless, like any other restless spirit wandering the land of the dead.

Killian’s words could not find him– the B L O O D and B I L E that clogged his throat made too big of an obstacle for proper speech. Instead, his eyes searched his surroundings for answers, only finding the woman that stood above him with such a poise that could only be described as regal. Before he could place a face with a name, his newly formed body coughed up what extra organs he had grown, all of it falling from his mouth to the deck in a retch. Whatever dream this was, it was true to form. He could feel the Jolly’s wood underneath his hands, most certainly his ship.

“Who?” was all that the pirate could speak out, pushing himself up into a sitting position.

His head rejected the movement, sending him into a dizzy spin. Once he found his balance, leaning on the bottom of the mast, his eyes found the woman again. Her words registered, yet he did not know what she wished to know. There could be no gratitude for the woman’s actions, especially when it became apparent that she intended him as her slave. Ever still, slavery was preferable to falling in that pit again. “Who are you?”

"Persephone, queen of the underworld, goddess of springtime." She watched the pirate with a placid, almost amused smile. "You are indeed a strong mortal to have survived the pit. There must be a strong motivation. I advise you hold onto that. It will serve you well in your future, however short it may be."

Her smile didn't reach her eyes, ending instead at her lips while her bright green eyes remained distant.  She had made the mistake of trusting a man once, and she was still paying the price.  She tried to be patient as the weak spirit pulled himself back together, she had assumed that his ship would motivate him, but perhaps she needed to dig into deeper desires.

"Recover quickly, Jones, I need answers and I need them quickly, I'm in no mood to wait until your soul has grown faded with age, I'm tired of waiting." She conjured a chair under him, raising it until he was eventually deposited on his feet, allowing him to lean against the mast for support. All of his discomfort was psychological, his body didn't truly work anymore, it was frozen in time as little more than a vessel for his soul.

"As do deities. And magical creatures. Perhaps you should focus on those rules that aren't oddities, your head might clear." Persephone looked down upon the creature, arching one elegant eyebrow.

Pain || Hades & Persephone

A hand flew to her head and Seph doubled over, nearly blacking out from the sudden pain.  It felt like someone had tried to bash her skull in.  She rested a hand against the wall, holding her head and searching for the source of the blow. There was nothing and no one around, she was alone in the palace corridor. Which left one explanation. Hades.

Taking a breath, and standing tall again, Seph hurried to the bedroom that she was supposed to have shared with her husband. Devoid of all feminine touches, she hadn't seen the room since her disastrous wedding night. Knowing that he had brought other women to the bed that had been meant for them hurt, but she couldn't think about that yet. She had to save her husband from whatever idiotic maneuver he had pulled.

Kneeling, Persephone calmed her mind and summoned her power, calling Hades to herself. Their link was weaker than traditional marriages between gods, but when Seph focused on the love she still felt for the man who betrayed her, she could call upon that connection. Seconds later, Hades, king of the underworld, materialized on his black silk duvet.  Standing, she observed him, quickly wiping the tears out of her eyes. She was strong, too strong to cave in to the emotions of a weak, impressionable girl. "Lay still, you were injured." She examined the head wound, glad for the man's immortality.
