I will miss you, my friend. SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON 2002, dir. Kelly Asbury, Lorna Cook
What is love
I think a lot of the time it is sharing a "remember when," with either a ready shoulder or a question cut short by cackling. it can come in different shapes: a question like "are you staying warm?", "when is the next time I'll see you?", or "do you know you don't have to do this alone?" it can take more assured statements like "call me when you get home," "this made me think of you," and "please, don't worry about it." it might not come with any words at all. it can vary in colors, from nearly sunrise blue to a newborn's blinking brown eyes. it finds a place to live in your heart, your stomach, or even the creases of your elbows when you notice their absence. a hidden hickey under the collarbone. a full or flipping stomach. as lighthearted as a neighbor across the street or as all-consuming as a 60th anniversary. drugstore valentines to shared homemade dinners with college friends. in fact, it rarely looks the same person to person, but I think the best way to tell is the way the air feels around their name. spoken delicately enough as if, once drifting out in the open, you'd pull the very word closer to your chest.
