I have recently decided to go back and rewatch the most popular 80s and 90s sitcoms and I have found a consistent element in all of them. Dynamic, powerhouse, funny women. Each have a hilarious ensemble, but for the most part they all feed off of an absurd, yet beautiful comedienne.

With Friends and Frasier I have varying opinions. With Frasier, the girls REALLY carried the show. The men were just punchlines, except Niles. Niles and Daphne are fantastic. On Friends, the girls didn’t need men to set up or execute the joke. The women had their own separate dynamic and that’s probably one of the elements that made the show such a monster hit.
