『Unpure.』。。。Atsuki & Karma
There were many thoughts that obscured his mind. Thoughts which, with time, piled up and grew heavier. These thoughts were living, constantly roaming inside of his head, venturing back and forth between time. The past, the present, and the future. The memories and the current seconds mixed with his imagination and predictions, often blurring the way and forcing him to take roads he usually wouldn’t. It often caused many incidents, and only brought more memories that needed to be forgotten.
Karma was pulled out of those thoughts as something was tossed in his direction. Raising his gaze to the piece of clothing handed to him, he showed a bit of hesitation. Not only did it not belong to him, but the other would not be in any better position than himself right now if he accepted it. 『Do you live near?』 he asked, his eyes moving to the purple umbrella still on the ground. Reaching over for it, he shook it a little and opened it.
『I don’t live really close to here.』 Karma only found this way to offer the opportunity for the other to invite him if he wished. He disliked inviting himself over, and preferred to hint for this solution in a subtle way. But if he met with refusal, no amount of rain would stop him from returning home. He didn’t want to be taken with pity, he did not need that.
He didn’t look offended that he didn’t take what was offered to him, in fact, he was expecting that to happen. What he didn’t expect was the other clearly hinting that they wanted to come over. Wasn’t someone coming for him? Didn’t he drive here? Atsuki then looked uncomfortable, but it wasn’t because of Karma, it was because he tried his best not to say those questions at all, he knew it would be rude to ask. He was curious, but he usually tried not to be such a big mouth.
“I live close enough, I guess. It’s within walking distance,” he nodded, he had walked here even though he expected it to rain. Walking in the rain was a way to relieve his stress and get his mind off things that displeased him. He put on his sweater again.
“Do you want to walk with me?” he asked, standing straight again.
『Unpure.』。。。Atsuki & Karma
His umbrella was of no use anymore at this point. Karma was completely soaked, and though shivering a tad with the night settling in, he didn’t move from where he was sitting. He almost found it odd that no one came to advice them to exit the shrine, or was it simply they had forgotten their presence here, if not completely unaware that there still was anyone around. Perhaps no one dared coming out of the temple and be victim of the rain if having nothing to protect even just their heads.
His eyes, having closed for a moment, opened again to rest upon Atsuki. A hand coming to tuck some strands away as they stuck to his face with the cold rain, he pursed his lips faintly. 『I came here to cleanse myself.』A faint sniffing noise came from him after those words, the cold obviously affecting him but that was not enough to bother him.
Helping himself with a hand coming to the ground in order to push himself up, he glanced towards the side of the little building behind which he hid earlier, and next to which his wooden sandals had been abandoned. Walking the few feet that separated him from them, he reached down for the sandals to replace them in a position that would make it easier to slide his feet in.
『But I think if I stay in the rain, I’ll be too pure.』 Karma probably wasn’t making much sense with those words, but to himself, it had a certain meaning. After all, using water as cleansing was part of the entrance ritual at each shrine, water was the best way to wash one’s self off their demons and whatever that stained them. Having now washed his feet in a little puddle, removing the dirt and little rocks that could’ve stayed underneath them, he slid them into the sandals.
Atsuki stared at him for a moment. It took him a bit for him to realize that he wasn’t speaking about his physical self, maybe he was talking about cleansing himself mentally..? His expression showed confusion, but decided not to read into it so much, in the end he would ask too many questions to try and figure it out, he didn’t want the other to explain himself forcefully, or be rude in asking too many questions.
“Do you want to go somewhere else..? Or are you waiting for someone? You’ll probably catch a cold like this!” he said a bit worried. He wondered if he always was so careless, being in a band and not worrying about getting a cold, he wondered what kind of person Karma really was. Clearly, he spoke like he was reading a poem, it was strange, but he didn’t mind it. He was already taking off his own sweater, now only wearing a t-shirt and leaned down slightly to offer it to him.
