My office roommate had to move out due to distancing requirements so I made myself a new roommate. He’s a Jailbird from Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales and he’s 6.5″ tall.

Hey all, just wanted to make a quick post to let you know that I'm going for my Lasik surgery tomorrow! I've finally decided to go ahead with it after 5 years of thinking about it. I'll probably make a post after about how it all went but you're welcome to send me any specific questions you have and I'll do my best to answer them.

Alternately, if I never post again that means the surgery was a horrible failure and I'm now blind :)

Back on my bullshit

#a sandfly somehow squeezed itself through my CLOSED window and then disappeared #better than the time a sandfly repeatedly tried to land in my eye

He’s done! 17 inches tall, everything from the shoes to the basic head shape is joined in the round - no sewing!

This was my first time making a pattern and I definitely learned a lot. There are quite a few things I’d change (smaller ears, for one...) but I’m just happy this is done.

Quick lil update:

I’m still on the crochet train. I decided to make my own Crash Bandicoot pattern based on the It’s About Time redesign and it’s turning out much bigger than expected (like, it’ll be 2ft tall when done). I’ve also promised two coworkers that I’ll be making a jailbird chocobo pattern next, and after that I saw I really cute Kero from Cardcaptors pattern I just have to make! So it’s safe to say I won’t be uploading art for a little while.

#i can post progress pics if anyone wants?#i have the bottom half of crash done #and the arms #the fingers were such a nightmare bc they're so itty bitty small #but the whole thing (almost) is attached in the round so there'll be very little sewing at the end!!

I finished crocheting a chocobo over the weekend! He’s 7″ tall and can almost stand on his own.

The pattern I used is here. I changed a few things (smaller head, improv beak and tail, feet made in one piece) but the pattern is fantastic and very easy for a beginner like me.
