the sudden question has me taken aback but i quickly smile, laughing softly. “you have no shame whatsoever,” i laugh, running a hand through my hair. “i wouldn’t mind getting to know you, haruto, you’re not as bad as everyone makes you seem,” i say genuinely, taking a small sip of my drink. i look up to him look not shocked but slightly surprised. “what? were you expecting me to say no? i told you, you’re not that bad, plus you paid for my food” i add, starting to eat my pastry. 🍯

“hm... i don’t know what i was expecting really. good that you didn’t say no though,” he laughs under his breath at your words. “oh and what does everyone make me out to seem like?” haruto takes a sip of the drink he ordered, genuinely intrigued by what you said.

“san....” i trail off “would you be mad if i said i was contemplating meeting up with him like he asks?” i ask him “i just- i want to see what he’d has to say for himself,” i continue, but by the look on san’s face after hearing my words, i already knew the answer - 🧚🏻‍♀️

“y/n, why? i don’t understand when he’s treated you so badly. and i’ve been there every single time for you when you were at your lowest because of that asshole.. what makes you think he’s changed? .” san sits up a bit and looks you in the eyes as he speaks.

i don’t notice the look he has, thanking him for holding the door as i walk in. “i mean i just started talking to him today,” i shrug, walking up to the register to order my favourite apple pastry and vanilla latte. i point out a couple to haruto that i thought he might like before shrugging again. “he’s nice so i think getting to know him wouldn’t be a bad idea. he seems like a nice person to be friends with,” i smile, not at all intending to get to know jeongwoo romantically. 🍯

haruto nods before ordering a coffee of his own with a chocolate pastry alongside it. he leans forward, paying for the both of your orders before you could do anything about it, seemingly not giving it a second thought. after getting what you both ordered, he finds a table for two near the entrance. “and me?” haruto boldly says with a teasing smirk as he sits down. “you maybe wanna get to know me?” the boy truly had no shame when he was like this.

i laugh softly, shrugging. “it was alright, i had math. i have it with doyoung and jeongwoo,” i explain, starting to walk towards the exit with him. “jeongwoo sits next to me so the class isn’t that boring,” i smile, thinking back to the joking yet kind nature of the other boy. we fall into step with one another, walking towards the cafe down the street. “jeongwoo’s really fun to have a class with actually. he’s really nice and he’s easy to work with for problems and stuff,” i say, occasionally glancing up at haruto. 🍯

haruto nods, kicking gently at a small pebble that was in the way of where he was walking. “yeah? he’s alright i guess,” haruto smirks and it looks like a lightbulb turns on in his head, “you like him?” he speaks out as he opens the cafe door for you to walk in first.

as i grab my things, i glance over at haruto, who looked put together even at the end of the day. he was attractive, sure, his entire group was, but something about his deep voice and smile made him stand out a little. snapping out of my thoughts, i type a couple reminders into my phone before slipping it into my pocket again. “all right, we can go now,” i smile, closing my locker as i turn back to face him. 🍯

haruto seemed to have his attention on his phone now, making sure only he could see the screen since he was texting jihoon to ease up on texting him in case you were to see anything. “good, how was your last class? have lots of fun?” he jokingly asked with a smile.

i look at my phone as it lit up, sighing a little as i saw who it was. it was juyeon. i quickly turned the screen off, not wanting to reply, and especially not wanting to reply when san was here knowing that he’d probably expect me to tell juyeon to go away when i reality i was actually contemplating going to meet him. not so i could forgive him, but because i wanted to here what he had to say for him and how hard he’d try to make me give him another chance - 🧚🏻‍♀️

san was anything but subtle as he made a face at your phone laying near you. “juyeon? no, go ahead and answer it if you want. don’t let me stop you.”

i smile thankfully at jeongwoo, slipping my phone in my pocket to head to my locker. i quickly read the text haruto sent before i put my phone away, flushing a little at the emoji. i didn’t want to keep haruto waiting too long, eyes widening when i see him already there, leaning against a nearby locker. “i didn’t mean to keep you waiting, sorry!” i apologize, smiling softly as i open my locker to grab my homework for that night. 🍯

haruto takes his hands out of his pockets, running a hand through his hair once and shaking his head laughing under his breath, “i was only here for a couple minutes y/n, don’t worry about it.” his eyes linger on you, truthfully haruto had never given you the time to even notice you this much but he thought you were so pretty, he had to snap out of it though and focus on the bet.

i open my mouth a bite the food he held up to my face. “wah~ its so good,” i hum in contentment “i’m so glad i chose to order from here now,” i say “and its no problem san. you do so much for me, the least i could do is buy is takeout on our movie night,” i giggle softly, feeling myself blush a little - 🧚🏻‍♀️

san’s eyes carefully linger on the slight blush that overtook your face before snapping out of it and reaching for the remote after taking another bite of food, “what movie do you think we should watch?” as soon as the words left san’s mouth, your phone lit up with a sound of a new text notification.

i laugh softly and nod at jeongwoo’s words, noticing the way the girls would look over at me before turning away once again. class starts and i turn towards the front, already bored. a nearly painful period later, class is done and i’m packing up my things, pulling out my phone to send haruto a text like he had mentioned about our project, telling him i’d be at my locker for a little to grab something. i groan as the teacher mentions homework, turning towards jeongwoo. “do you wanna exchange numbers so we can check answers together?” i ask, a small hopeful smile on my face. 🍯

jeongwoo nods at your words, “sure! i can text you later about it,” he quickly puts his number in your phone, patting your desk as he packs up and leaves the classroom, doyoung practically attached to his side as they chatter away. haruto replied back “alright see u there!❤️” slipping his phone back into his pocket as he stopped at his own locker for a minute.

“i know he is san,” i pout softly, placing the food on my coffee table. “lets eat, yeah?” i smile, trying to move on from the conversation surrounding my ex and removing the slight tension. “open,” i giggle, holding up some chicken to san’s lips with some chopsticks - 🧚🏻‍♀️

san instantly let a smile melt onto his face as he ate the piece of chicken you held up to him. “thanks for paying, y/n, you’re sweet,” he laughs and leans forward and feeds you a piece.

doyoung quickly agrees and i look at him with slight confusion, the interaction seeming slightly suspicious. i shrug it off, shrugging in reply to his question too. “i have no idea. we’ve never really talked aside from him asking for a pencil in class so i don’t know why he decided to walk me to class,” i reply, doyoung nodding slowly in reply. i laugh a little, turning back to my page. “you guys are best friends with him, you could just ask him,” i laugh, looking up to see more girls watching. “he’s my partner for a project too. not everyone was happy about it,” i laugh again, finding the girls jealousy amusing. 🍯

jeongwoo nodded, knowing just how haruto probably thought he was doing so well with the bet right now. but alas, he couldn’t say anything. some girls near doyoung were whispering, rolling their eyes every once in a while but you couldn’t be for sure that they were talking about you. jeongwoo looked at you once more and said, “he’s a fun partner most of the time, keep an eye on him,” he half joked.

i worry over how san’s body stiffens and i feel reluctant to give him my honest answer. “honestly... i dont know....” i say slowly “he said he just wants to talk and explain himself but i really dont if i’d want to do that,” i continue before the door bell goes. “aye food!” i speak enthusiastically, going to the door to take the food from the delivery man and thanking him - 🧚🏻‍♀️

san nods and sits up at the mention of food, your answers still swirling around his thoughts. “it’s your choice, y/n, i just really don’t want to see you hurt again, he’s an asshole for treating you like he did.” san had more to say but he didn’t want take out the anger he has for juyeon, on you.

i didn’t talk much to the two since they (surprisingly) kept to themselves, but i had talked to jeongwoo a couple times in the past and he was always quite nice. i smile in reply to his words, slipping my earbud out to talk to him. “i got x=4 for number three and i’m doing okay today, thanks. how are you, jeongwoo?” i ask, noticing doyoung peaking back at our conversation. “did you want homework answers too?” i ask doyoung, curious as to why he kept looking back. 🍯

“thank you and i’m good!,” jeongwoo wrote the answer down carelessly, his penmanship not being the best. doyoung opens his mouth to answer, being the bolder of the two and jeongwoo knew he was going to mention the bet in a sarcastic way so jeongwoo took it upon himself to speak. “doyoung’s just curious why haruto was walking with you earlier to class, that’s all. ruto kinda just blasted off as soon as he saw you.”

i sigh as i notice the girls’ looks, i quickly pack my bags and make my way to my next class. the issue with having twelve boys in the most popular group in school was that i almost always had a class with them. and that was the case for my next class, math. i had two boys in that class, doyoung and jeongwoo. thankfully, they weren’t as loud or playful as some of the others, focused on their studies and stayed quiet for most of the class. jeongwoo sat next to me and doyoung sat in the next row a couple seats up. i wasn’t sure if they’d suddenly strike up strange conversation too, like haruto had. 🍯

jeongwoo and doyoung had both caught wind of the bet jihoon had formed with haruto. haruto talked about it with them almost instantly. doyoung turned around halfway in his seat, making eye contact with jeongwoo. truthfully, jeongwoo felt bad about the bet but he knew both haruto and jihoon would kill him if he did anything to stop it. “hey y/n, did you get the answer for number three?... also how are you today?” he shared a beaming smile at you.

thankful he had been doing his part and wasnt against working this afternoon to get it done, i smile softly, beginning to pack my things too. i bite my lip when his arm brushes mine, smiling softly. “there’s a cafe, just down the street. it has really good pastries and lattes!” i offer, opening up to the male a little more. he hadn’t caused a single problem the entire time we were working, getting most of our work done too. i would be lying if i said that i didn’t enjoy working with him; he was a lot different than what i had heard. 🍯

“oh yeah? that sounds good, here give me your phone and i’ll give you my number.” haruto gently reaches out for your phone and types himself in as a contact and hands it back to you as soon as the bell rings. “text me when school is over and we can walk over to the cafe together?,” he gives you a subtle wink and smile again exiting the classroom already in chatter with one of his friends he found in the hallway. several of the girls still in the class are already giving you looks from your seat.

i look at him and sigh, knowing that he could full well see right through me and see when im putting off telling him things. “well uh....” i start off “juyeon has been messaging me a lot again... asking if i can give him another chance and if i want to meet up,” i explain softly “ive been ignoring him so far, but he just keeps texting and texting,” - 🧚🏻‍♀️

san stiffens as soon as juyeon’s name comes out of your mouth. “really..? again? i know it’s not as simple as just blocking his number so i’m not gonna say that but, are you gonna reply?” he looks into your eyes.
