👰🏻🤵🏻 March 20th 2020 I married my partner for life. ⠀⠀ Andy and I were worried about the status of our marriage set on Apr 4th 2020. My fiancé visa ends on 5/24. If we didn’t marry by then, I would have to go back to the US/expose myself to COVID-19/potentially spread it to loved ones/would need to start the visa process over/not see Andy for another year+ ⠀⠀ In England, you must declare your wedding to the registry which will be hosting your wedding. For us, that was the Surrey registry office (SRO). You must also tell them for which venue, which was Hartsfield Manor (HFM) for us. ⠀⠀ We decided to declare at Brighton Town Hall (BTH) as a back up when things started going south. We made an appointment and declared at BTH on Mon Mar 16th. Our first available date to get married there was Apr 14th after the 28 day waiting period. We didn’t book a slot, as we were still waiting to hear from HFM. ⠀⠀ Wed Mar 18th, a few things happened in quick succession. HFM called and canceled/postponed our wedding on 4/4. We called BTH to book a new wedding slot, but they weren’t taking any more bookings. I cried. Andy called every registry office in England to try and declare/make a booking. We begged BTH to let us have a booking. We asked HFM about letting us use their Outside Pavilion to get married. We would drive up, walk round back, get married, and leave. ⠀⠀ On Thurs Mar 19th, HFM allowed us to use the Pavilion and move our date if needed! Then SRO called - there was an open slot at 11am tomorrow! We booked it, and started calling guests. ⠀⠀ We married on Fri Mar 20th w/ four guests. @amywrightmakeup was my hero for the day. Not only did she come with full bags full of makeup, and create my perfect wedding day look, but she also brought blue shoes, and allowed me to borrow her bracelet for my “something borrowed”. ♥️ via Instagram https://ift.tt/2Ukb5Q2
