“That wasn’t what I had in mind, but I could probably do it with my good looks and I like you for thinking I could as well,” Augustus chuckled. “Perhaps we should work together and use our looks to get to the front, something for everyone then.”

Each question came with a swell of anxiety that clouded the elder vampire’s mind with noise and fear. Silently, she trailed him into her townhouse until she finally moved around him, then sank onto the couch where it was clear she’d spent much of her time. She grabbed the blanket puddled there and wrapped herself in it, then rested her head against the back of the couch and watched as Augustus moved towards her.
“I have some spare blood bags,” she answered softly. Truthfully, she wasn’t actually sure if she’d fed recently–she hadn’t felt hungry since those texts from Lydia. “I’m fine, just tired,” she lied, then heaved a heavy sigh and drew her legs to her chest under the blanket. The last time she left her townhouse, she practically had a psychotic break in the middle of a cafe, and with hallucinations that dogged her near constantly now, she feared venturing into public might result in something more dangerous than a panic attack.
Augustus took a seat on the other end of the couch, his gaze never once lifting from his sire. This was definitely not the Josefine he knew. Something was seriously off. It couldn’t have just been what had happened at the Halloween event that had caused this. Augustus wanted to know what else was wrong so he knew how to help, but his questions were clearly only upsetting her further and Augustus didn’t want to push her. “You’re clearly not fine, but I won’t make you talk about it even though I am a very good listener. Probably something to do with my perfectly shaped ears.”
Compared to many people recent events had left Augustus completely unscathed. Rue was fine and the twins had been through far worse making Halloween a distant memory by now. Unfortunately the same could not be said for many of his friends, including Luís. Augustus never spoke about it to anyone other than Rue but Augustus understood loss, he also understood how it felt when a member of your family was missing. Wanting to be there for Luís Augustus managed to persuade the hunter to come out for a few drinks. “That girl asked me if you were single,” Augustus said to Luís as he returned to their table, “So I told her we were engaged.”

“Why are you touching my cane?” Achilles asked the person who dared to place their hands on his property. “It isn’t a toy, nor is it cheap. Now unless you don’t want to buy me a new one, I recommend you remove your hands from what is mine.” If it was his old cane that was shattered on Halloween Achilles wouldn’t mind someone touching it. But this cane he had now was his weapon and the one that was given to him by his uncle. It was his hunters weapon. He couldn’t risk anything happening to it. It meant too much to him. He would normally have it locked away, but he didn’t have a good replacement. And with all the craziness happening within the pass few weeks maybe it was good to have it. “Now go away.” He spoke up to the person, not really wanting company.
Augustus threw the cane lightly up into the air, catching it one hand and testing its balance. “Oh, this is clearly not a toy. In fact, I doubt it’s just a simple cane you use to walk with or for a fashion statement.” He wasn’t going to let any harm come to the cane, Augustus was only trying to wind up the other hunter. Ever since Augustus had discovered Achilles’ secret he often teased him about it just to simply stir up some trouble. “Why so grumpy today?” Augustus asked, placing the cane back down.

“I love it. Even with scandal, people love to go out for drinks. “ Delphine replied leaning against the bar at HOWL. She had been laying low after he accident and needed to get out and live up to the image she had cultivated for herself over the years. “ God knows we all deserve a good drink right now. Nothing that had happened at HOWL had stopped Augustus from coming to the club, but it definitely had prevented a lot of people from coming which is why he was glad to see things return to normal. “Everything passes, it’s funny how quickly people can choose to forget if they so wish. I’m never one to pass up on a free drink, though.”

The door opened a few minutes later, slowly, and revealed a tired and dazed looking Josefine who squinted against the sun and took a step back. “Hi, Aug,” she greeted flatly, though not unkindly. She took a few unsteady steps out of the way to allow him inside, then dipped her gaze to the floor while he entered. She’d been stuck in her own head for the past few days, and none of that helped wth the hallucinations. The less she looked around, the smaller the chance of her seeing something. It made her grip on reality tenuous, and she wasn’t sure she could properly handle a normal interaction even with someone so kind as Augustus.
Augustus' eyebrows furrowed a little in concern, he didn’t need to ask to see that Josefine wasn’t doing well. The event had been traumatising but he thought Josefine would be dealing with better than this, especially now her wounds had healed. “When was the last time you went out?” Augustus asked, as he passed Josefine. “Have you been feeding regularly?” He didn’t to pester her with questions, Augustus just wanted to work out what was going on. “How have you been doing?”

Kiara couldn’t help but shoot Augustus a small glare at his come back. Her hands were shaking, her heart still trying to jump clean out of her chest. Her eyes never left him when he gently took the knife from her. “What gave it away?” She whispered back forcing a small smile. After a beat, the shifter took a breath trying to hold herself together. She knew if she spoke about how she was doing more she’d burst out in tears. It seemed to be all she was doing lately, crying. “How are you doing?”
“There were a few clues, but what really gave it away was the odd socks,” Augustus joked. Kiara had been through so much he didn’t want to make the conversation too dark and upset her. “I know everything sucks right now, and it’s painful but you can’t keep everything to yourself,” Augustus commented, noting how she shifted the conversation onto him. “Not that you have to talk about it now, just that you should. I’m more than happy to talk about me, and I’m golden as you asked. You know nothing brings me down for long.”

What is the most comfortable sleeping position?On my back with my arms crossed over my chest, but that’s only if a coffin is available. If there isn’t than hanging upside from the ceiling.
Are you an art museum or a science museum kind of person?A bit of both, if I’m in the right mood. If I had to choose, art, and not just because of the nudity. There’s plenty of nudity in science as well.

What is your favourite season and why? Weather doesn’t really have much impact. Not even the sun thanks to my handy little ring. But, I would have to say, Winter. I really like candy canes and watching people slipping on the ice always makes Rue happy. But then I do like ice-cream as well and watching people getting sunburned makes Rue happy as well.
What is your favourite tea and how do you take it?I was born in Britain so I like my tea traditional. A little bit of milk and two sugars, I’m vampire so I can have as much sugar as I wish.

I can only give five? Well, that’s just cruel. I suppose my incredible wit, my beautiful locks, my handsomely chiseled face, my quick thinking, my suave charm, my ability... Oh wait that’s five.
The whole city was still dealing with what had happened, many of those injured were still in hospital and funerals being held for those who weren’t so lucky. Augustus, although not surprised, was relieved when he found his twin with only the mental trauma of helping an original vampire. He made sure to visit those that had been injured, including Josefine. Her injuries may have healed but Augustus knew that she was probably far from fine. “Mama vamp,” He called through the door as he knocked. “I come bringing Chinese food, and the delivery guy as a starter.”

“Okay, fine, but explain this one to me. Donald duck never wears pants but when he gets out of the shower —– he wears a towel,” the woman muttered with a small smirk on her lips, hoping the other would take the distraction.
“Perhaps he takes cold showers, who know what happens to guys in the cold,” Augustus commented with a small smirk. “Either that or he only had the body confidence to be half naked at a time.”

Being surrounded by blood at the disaster had really heightened the young vampire’s bloodlust. Normally, she had a lot of control. However, so many witches had been bleeding around her that she didn’t know if she could take it. The vampire pushed someone who smelled heavily of witch blood into an alley way with her. Estelle really couldn’t help it and she knew that she should have eaten before coming. However, she had not expected a disaster that would put her in a position to be surrounded by blood. Her green eyes found their eyes for a moment as she attempted to compel them. “This won’t hurt… I’m sorry.” It was then the French vampires fangs extended to sink into the person’s neck.
“I have no problem with the killing of witches, presuming you are going to drain them dry,” Augustus said, observing from the entrance of the alley. “But you really shouldn’t snatch people off the street so obviously. Anyone could see you. Like me, who fortunately is a vampire and not a human who’s going to call the police in a crazed panic.”

She was covered in paint and wearing overalls, something she hadn’t worn since she was 7 and in her tom boy phase. She was immensely proud of the progress she’d made in the building , but she’d been up all night and was in serious need of coffee. So, Olivia decided to take a break, something she didn’t do too often when she had her mind set on something and went to the coffee shop across the street. The line was ridiculously long and she wanted to cry, “damn, how long has the line been this way?” she asked, mostly to herself or anyone that would be bothered to be friendly in the rush of time to get their beverages.
Augustus turned around in the queue to glance at the blonde standing behind him as she spoke. “I’ve just joined the queue myself, love,” He answered with a small shrug. “No coffee is worth this wait, a hot chocolate maybe. I might just compel myself to the front,” Augustus said flippantly, not caring it was a human he was speaking too. Augustus presumed the comment would just go over there head. It was a common human trait to just ignore what they didn’t understand.

It was the sound of chirping that had woken her from her slumber. Her fingers twitched before she finally forced her eyes to open. The blinding white that surrounded her made her think for a second that she hadn’t made it. When her eyes slowly readjusted to the lighting, Kiara realised she was in her room, the curtains wide open. Someone had reclothed her, comfy pyjamas she couldn’t complain. Her throat felt dry and hoarse as if she hadn’t drunk anything in weeks. When she tilted her head she saw a white clip on her middle finger, the wires attached leading to the source of the constant beep beside her. – until she realised that the heart monitor wasn’t real and her head was playing tricks on her.
How long had she been out for? Better yet… how was she still breathing? How on Earth was she still alive? With half-lidded eyes, she stared at the ceiling. She didn’t understand. She knew she tried to shift, but she also knew she didn’t heal very much. Just enough to stop her from dying on the spot. She shouldn’t have made it. Hearing a shuffle from her other side she slowly turned her head to have a look. What she hadn’t realised was that her heart had sped up. She was beginning to panic. Who was there? In her home no less.
That’d become a thing for the shifter. Looking over her shoulder, trying to make herself believe that whatever made that noise wasn’t going to kill her, goddamit! Then sitting on the floor for an hour to catch her breath. Her panic attacks had gotten worse and her nightmares. Well, let’s just say she couldn’t stand to close her eyes longer than five minutes. Rummaging through her cupboards she was coming to a realisation that she had barely any food left. She would need to go outside eventually. Yet, she could barely cope with being indoors… by herself.
She let out a scream hearing her front door slam. Grabbing the first thing that was close by she spun at held it towards the person who had entered. She tried her best not to wince her pains had lessened… drastically. but some of them still lingered. Those she didn’t feel the need to shift for, like the remains of the open wounds left by a blade. Quite like the one she was holding. As she looked at the silver utensil in her had she gasped. Flashes of an open flame flickered past her eyes. Images of a man holding onto a knife running towards her as she let out a plea for him to stop. Soon she had dropped her knife backing up until her back had hit the cupboards behind her evidently making her jump more. It was always hard to separate reality from hallucination, now it was even harder, and Kiara had no idea she was dealing with the latter.
Augustus hadn’t seen Kiara since that night and had come by to visit her, concerned for her wellbeing. He was concerned about many of his friends, a lot of the people he knew had almost died that night. Knocking on the door Augustus waiting patiently before knocking again. Using his vampire hearing he could tell she was in, he could also hear her labored breath. Forcing the door open Augustus made his way in, only to find Kiara in the kitchen with a knife. “You’d be better off with a wooden spoon, m’dear. That won’t do much damage.” He said, gently taking the knife off her and placing it down on the counter. “You don’t look like you’re doing too well.”
