“I can see that,” Daphne replied with a nod, letting her gaze sweep around the empty gym. She’d never say it out loud but she much preferred when there were barely any people around. It made her feel less self-conscious about herself.
She cringed then, as she listened to Aurora speak about the client she’d had earlier. She understood, to a degree. Despite the fact she was a lesbian, she was undoubtedly not impervious to the wandering, lecherous gazes of men. Most of the time she could simply ignore it, though there were the rare few that made her truly uncomfortable.
An eyebrow rose, following Aurora into the set up ring. “Fight you? Really throwing me into the deep end here, huh,” Daphne teased easily. This was one of the few places she felt completely at ease. “What, not even a warm up to get started?” She continued, stretching out a little as she eyed the blonde.
“Hopefully running around after Bridezillas and dumbass grooms hasn’t made me forget too much. It has been a while,” Daphne commented with a sheepish grin and a little shrug.
“We have got about two hours to train before I have another class.”She nods slowly at her own words,a small smile playing on her lips as she focuses on the redhead in front of her.
“I am done with men, they are all dogs!”She jokes, rolling her eyes once again before tightening her boxing gloves around her hands, getting ready to start the combat.
“I have been warming up all morning but I don’t mind if you warm up,you should.”A small smile was plastered on her lips as she rolled her head around, ready to start the fight. Since she was the teacher, she was going to take it easy on Daphne.
Aurora lets out a short chuckle at the redhead’s words, nodding as she stands up straight. “I have to admit, your job is way worse than mine and I fight for a living!”The blonde takes a deep breath, blinking quickly. “Come on,hit me.”
“Two hours? That’s a long enough time to get a good work out,” Daphne nodded, grinning at the blonde. She simply chuckled at her friends words about men. She didn’t have a particular opinion one way or another, but she was swayed to agree with Aurora after everything she’d heard from her friends that dated men.
She nodded her head then, moving to warm up for a few minutes before reaching for her boxing gloves. Her brows furrowed a little, shaking her head as she pulled her gloves on. “Oh, it’s not worse. I love my job. It can just get tough around wedding season,” Daphne told her with a slight chuckle.
Daphne rolled her shoulders as Aurora spoke. She grimaced a little at the words, brows furrowing as she shook away a memory that wanted to take hold. She shifted into a proper stance, arms up to guard her face as she rocked slightly on her feet. She extended her right hand, taking a weak swipe at Aurora; she didn’t want to hurt her, even accidentally.
“We can do a lot of stuff during two hours but I think a physical combat will do much more for you,it will help you remember.”She nods at the redhead, staying quiet.
With a deep sigh and a deep intake of breath,Aurora got herself in position with a serious expression on. “Now,enough chit chat and let's focus on the challenge in front of us.”Aurora saw the expression on Daphne's face and knew that she was hesitant to hurt her when she threw such a weak strike at her.
The blonde held the redhead's fist tightly in her hand, looking up at her with a small smirk.”I blocked your punch, what do you have to do now?Think about your next move well.”
