alright, so i donโt often get involved in discourse because it isnโt exactly my cup of tea. however, everything that is going on needs to be dealt with.
user exposingcheatershq is a hate anon centered page, out to stir drama and further continue the discourse that has been revolving around the haikyuu community.
said anon has sent several hate messages to my mutuals, and has stepped up to making a blog to quote on quote expose โcheatersโ. a.k.a plagiarizers.
first of all, let me start with the very obvious statement that any fandom writer should understand and be aware of. almost everyone on this hellsite uses colored dividers for their works. itโs the key to our organization, and separation. no one owns this. many writers also use symbols. again, no one owns these. you cannot claim credit for something that did not belong to you in the first place.
second of all. when it comes to content, there is only so much a person can do to avoid similarities. ESPECIALLY when youโre in the same community. iโve seen countless posts for headcanon themes, aus, etc. sure, people can be inspired by someone elseโs postโ and by all means please give inspiration credit where it is due. however, people need to understand that a lot of us have the same ideas that we wish to write and create in our own ways. every writing community is large, and not all of us know every single blog that exists.
if you feel that content is being plagiarized, whether it be yours, a mutual, or even one of your favorite creatorsโ PLEASE, operate like adults and handle the situation privately and within safe spaces. ๏ฟผ๏ฟผhate is a very disgusting thing, and only stems negativity. if you are speaking on behalf of someone who did not condone it, stop. again, if you see content that seems similar to someone elseโs? send it to that person, and let them choose to deal with the situation how they choose.
being a good person doesnโt take as much energy as some of you would like to think. instead, you choose to operate on distasteful hate comments and hiding behind the title of anon. handle your business like an adult, or get off the website that clearly states it is meant for 17+ not an inconsiderate child with a bad attitude.
do not operate on fan behavior, and wannabe attention seeking. it simply makes you look desperate. there is far more important issues in the world to focus on, and shed light on rather than he said she said bullshit over fanfiction.
