“Thank you.” She thought the woman had a similar demeanor to her own. Kind, caring, level headed…. she wasn’t sure why in the short interaction they’d had but perhaps it was the way she held herself. “I’m not… I moved here … about a year and a half ago, I believe.” She wasn’t quite sure but she knew she’d been locked away for some time, so it was at least a few months past a year an dhalf a year seemed like a good guesstimate. “Are you?”
Dawn hesitated for a moment, unsure about what she should tell Belle. “I’m not,” she decided to answer eventually. She hesitated some more before adding, “I just arrived a few days ago.” It wasn’t a lie, she thought, and she didn’t want to bother Belle with her story. She already found it bothersome enough that everybody at the hospital knew about it. “I’ve been staying at Granny’s Inn; she’s a very kind woman,” Dawn added with a smile. “If you don’t mind me asking, what made you want to move here?” she asked, bringing her orange juice to her lips and taking another sip.
