There is such a thing as overbearing. If you want to go out, you have that right. I think they’d just prefer to know when you do leave. You don’t have to tell them everything. Just a, “Hey, I’m taking a walk,” and a few texts to let them know you’re alright would suffice.

When I look back, I don’t have regrets. In the moment I am really, really hard on myself, I’m definitely my own worst critic and can be my own worst enemy, and I’m trying very hard not to be that.

If what someone else says can easily derail you, it means your sense of self isn’t that firmly established in the first place. It’s an inside job. You’re beautiful and worthy and totally unique. People insult each other based on their own insecurities - even though it may feel personal, it really never is. Really.
