mid year book freak out tag
I’ve read 64 books so far this year! I like to look back on my last half of the year and see what kind of books have stuck with me! I stole these questions from YouTube. Here are my answers from 2025.
best book you’ve read so far in 2026? i've read a few i really loved! maybe pachinko!
best sequel you’ve read so far in 2026? so far maybe everyone in this bank is a thief, but i have high hopes for off the reservation.
new release you haven’t read yet, but want to: last contract of isako!
most anticipated release for the second half of the year: maybe daggerbound for fantasy and aside from the stephen graham jones, perhaps the exodontists or immaculate deception for horror?
biggest surprise: wings of starlight is a disney published book about clarion from the pixie hollow series and i was genuinely surprised by how GOOD it was! i think the author did an incredible job of characterizing clarion- it's so hard to write an elegant, regal queen as a main character and it was absolutely great.
favorite new author (debut or new to you): i really really loved the fairy tale, purple prose of roshani chokshi's swan's daughter- can't believe i've never read from her before!
newest favorite character: maybe sorcha from daughter of the forest?
book that made you cry: i haven't cried yet from a book! i don't read a lot of tear jerkers.
book that made you happy: i LOVED jane austen's bookshelf! i love learning about women.
most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received): i haven't read it yet, but the unicorn hunters was one of my aardvark book club picks this year and i think it's stunnin'!
what books do you need to read by the end of the year? i really want to read lund in the mist and lolly willowes this year.
