🫠🤺🤷🏻♀️
Icing my left knee. Turns out fencing is making it all feel overused. Lol!
Damn runners.
OT has changed me in only 8 weeks. I used to be a runner in college. VT rolling hills were addictive. I learned to run on snow, humid summers, and rain!
That stopped when I moved to Lesotho. That altitude turned me into a hiker. Then NYC had me walking 20K a day because it’s a walking city!
Now I still claim being a walker over a runner, but when you are in a small class and the trainer decides we all on the treadmill then weights/floor, you get hyped and start running.
My big toes’ nails needed a clip to make running comfortable. On a whim I decided to try the place next to my hair dresser. The guy knew how to do an old school ingrown nail removal. In seconds, I felt relief.
Oh, It’s ON OT!
🤩
My kids are ready to fence me. I expect to be smoked but once I fence the teenagers and my coach I will know what being humbled means. My perimenopause rage is my biggest weapon. 🤷🏻♀️
Theory is necessary but I had my first dry match today! 3-0! I won.
Practice and theory to revise what I did wrong is a must, except I was fast and had no clue what I did right. I know one thing. I like this sport and the reason:
Pattern recognition and attack!
5 more classes to join the club!
I am going to be humbled by a bunch of teenagers. So proud of my boys for learning this new sport and not giving up!
I have 4 orange theory classes left in my dock until 5/29. I have completed 13 thus far. It’s a challenge every time but way easier than my novice fencing classes on Tues/Thurs. 😩 I use OT to lift 8 times per month. I have no self discipline to do it on my own. I can ride my peloton, no problem… so here I am doing the work.
Watching my kids fence with the club is so humbling. It’s addictive, so I joined too right before I go on lock down for my summer program.
So why did I sign up for this all at once? Well, you see what had happened was… I was told 2026 was my year and now it’s mine to manage.
The novice fencing course is 12 sessions from 5/5 until 6/16. After that I join the club for $45 a month and progress at my own tempo, but this sport is so competitive, I cannot wait to improve by competing
To keep up at age of almost 4-8, I have to lift heavy and walk… and mix it all up. We are not in NyC where 12k steps were accomplisher by noon.
This is what we do here now to stay agile and mobile.
Why? Well, my stress levels are down. I close my rings twice a day six a day a week. My sleep is premium… I am about to level up on other areas of my professional life. This activities help me stay centered… the kids are in the middle of their last 4 weeks of school. We are focused! Everyone is getting stronger and crushing goals.
We thrive in structured settings but do we want to veg out? Hell yeah but not yet… soon tho’! Soon!
I completed my 5th OT class. It feels so good.
Heavy weights, rowing w/tempo, and actually running and stretching.
❤️
Second OT class was this am!
It worked out great. Up at 5:30am. Out of the house at 5:55am. Back at 7:15pm. Dropped off my middle scholer at 7:45am. Back at the house at 7:55 to eat, shower and feed the younger two. First meeting at 9:15 in the library coffee house!
Yup! AM workouts will always rule later in the day workouts.
Tomorrow I am off, so I will book an hour book walk w the weighted vest!
I have missed this type of routine.
We eat better, sleep better, and live better!
Welp! Sometimes you gotta go out to do things.
We have had the Peloton app since 2019! We love it! Especially as how it has evolved since they started. In the fall I was so committed to my book walks 5x/week, and only realized the Peloton app had been recording all my walks until January through the Fitness app on the Apple watch. I was only riding twice a week then and chose not to look at my exercise goals there because I do not enjoy their guided walks. 🤯.
I am now only doing long walks twice a week with my 30lb weighted vest. I have gotten stronger and more agile.
I knew I had to mix it up in March. Luck will have it that my Husband walks in and says: work will pay up to $100 on a gym membership to help out w/ jet lag while I travel.
He signed up for Orange Theory two weeks ago. It’s a 1.8 mile drive from us and the Portland Studio is within blocks from work.
I joined yesterday and every muscle is happy sore today!
We started our vision board in December for 2026. We update it once a month… had not been able to find our once a week activity for us, but this did it! We are scheduled to do 1 class together on Thursdays at 6:05am.
🤯
You mean we could have been doing this all along… 🤪🙌🤘🤯 Anyway! I am excited!
Kids will be responsible for getting up when we leave one time a week. A new challenge for All! When we get home, one of us will do school drop off. It will be a good practice run to nurture independence and maturity for them!
We want them to see us have fun sans them and to become more self-reliable! 🥹
Watched the trend where parents realize they may have missed the last time they could have carried their children.
Nope. I just lifted my 13 year old over my shoulder and did a squat! Then the 10 year old, and last my 6 year old who is 45lbs. They were heavy but my hips do not lie. They are strong!
One thing I can do at 4-7 is lift!
Nope.
No lasts yet! 🤺
Harry is solid 100 heavy lbs. Ian is 110, also solid! Not heavy is Isaac, my lil peso pluma!
Still in shock I have a teenager. I did not even blink!

We said goodbye to our Carnival! She barely had 30K but we Welcomed our EV9! Missing my sliding doors already but the kids are old enough to get in and out cars and manage seat belts.
Processing all the new stuff to us. Including the rebate from our state energy company. Paperwork and contractor to install the Level II charger is one more thing in this busy season.
What pushed us? Paying $57 to fill up the minivan last Friday.
I was willing to wait until December but the dudes in charge wanted a war! So, let our solar panels juice our EV.
Bye Bad Bunny Gyal, welcome IvyQueen! She is powerful and so quiet! 🤷🏻♀️
Travel week started today. For the husband, not me!
Took out the kids to BruNChes! Our server missed us—haven’t been there since November but it was nice not to cook for at least one meal!
We got home and the reset for the week began. Getting ready for our cleaners… a playdate, meal planning!
Had our weekly Planning Meeting at 1pm. Went over the schedule, preferred meals, must have meals, and treats. The time change will be a challenge tomorrow morning for them! Not me— I love spring forward. Fall back sucks for me. The infamous hour gained does not happen for me… kids wake at the same time so my days feel longer.
In this spring forward they naturally go to bed earlier—they are tired. 🤓🫣
We have 9 school days before the 3-week break begins and we cannot wait. We need it! Have two local trips planned and it will be enjoyed greatly.
It gets busy non stop from early April until first week of August.
It’s us 4 against the week 🤓🥰
Pa’ lante!
4 years ago my grandmother passed!
I remember ugly crying on the ride home, on the 7 train, after school drop off on 10th Av and 41st st. This is the kind of stuff you can do in big cities. Cry in a semi empty train because you get to just be!
I had no idea why it hit me so hard. I kept saying, my Mom just lost her Mom. The Mom she desperately needed and wanted but homegirl was never emotionally available. She hated animals and that always threw me off.
4 years later. I feel for my Mom. She was named after her. One name. No middle. She went through the trouble of renaming/adding a middle name to my sister’s name when she was 2 years old. This became an issue when my sis wanted to become a citizen. Her birth certificate did not match the application. The addendum was never procured. Yup—the feds demanded my sis take a DNA test as proof that she was my mother’s daughter.
Anyway, having watched how my Mom sought her love and attention (1 of 8 kids, she was #4) showed me that old school parenting was basically non-committal. Basic Silent gen. No feelings, just hard work and be grateful for what you have.
4 years later, I know I cried because my Mom never got the Mom she deserved and needed it. They were both pregnant in 1976; my Mom expecting my Abuela’s first grandchild while my Abuela expected her last daughter. My brother and auntie are 2 months apart.
Just wild times!
My Lobstah is back!
Thank you God for a safe 2k mike trip sans issues!
I made a goal to get a haircut every 12-14 weeks. I was delayed by a whole 4 weeks but I did it and this new hairdressers sees my vision. I want my hair to grow strong and slow… she gets it! She also gave me an undercut/fade to help w the mega volume. The annoying baby hair curls are gone . Feels so clean and light now!
Then went to a 30th bday party. A proper party… it started at 4pm and lated until 2am. The kids did not want to leave, neither did I but around 11pm I was fading fast and had a 45 min drive home. We left after the piñatas …
Lack of sleep galore because the hubby had to drive to Maine (15.5 hours w 2 stops1 = 1K miles) and left at 3:30am. Once he left I never went back to sleep.
I am now doing a show in bed, the kids are playing games for 2 hours. Made pancakes and French toast… so now we relax!
I love my haircut!
2.5 inches of snow! We will have a whole week off…
“The new year only starts in March.”
Unlike the calendar, I call Jan-March, unreal time!
Enjoy the winter… relax!
The 12 year old needs braces! Lol!
Fun to learn that early in the year!
