Hey, I totally get it! You can’t just force yourself to create something if you haven’t got the motivation to do it. And like you’ve said, some things are just worth it! I feel that – I’ve got the attention span of a two year old so I’m easily distracted by…anything. A little, yeah! It’s where they go interview people who are on death row and listen to their stories from the prisoners and their families and the law that brought them in.

I figure that an album will hit when it hits. I can’t force it if I’m not vibing with it. But, that actually sounds like something that I would fucking love, to be honest. I’m so into true crime shit, it’s really fucking fascinating figuring out how people’s minds work.

I watched the first couple seasons of that show and then I fell off the tracks with it. Although I heard it’s ended now, so I cat at least rewatch it and catch up and not have to worry about missing new episodes. I’ve been in a hole of binge watching One Tree Hill from the very beginning, so I can definitely relate to how you’re feeling. You should just make your new album all about zombies. It could be an interesting twist.

It’s all on Netflix now, which is really the worst thing that’s happened lately because I’ve watched the whole series like four times in the past year, and it only just ended last year. I could do that, it would be a mood, that’s for damn sure.

I Fall Apart is still a classic cry it out song, arguably one of the best songs from your album but that isn’t counting your most recent one. What’s something that gives you inspiration? Maybe you need to get inspired by some zombies. The Walking Dead theme song will have nothing on it. 

Are you asking specifically for an I Fall Apart follow up, or just more emo drama, because I’m not sure I can ever follow up I Fall Apart. But also, no pressure, just one of my favorite actresses demanding new music, it’s fine I got this. Hollywood’s Bleeding happened because I compared Hollywood to vampires, I’m sure I can pull up a concept album based off zombies.

I think just binge-watching your favourite shows is totally valid at the moment. You don’t have to be productive. You might just want to tell your manager that you’re not actually being productive ha. What other shows are worth binge-watching?

I keep telling myself that Dre knows me, and he should know better than to actually take me seriously when I say alright to him telling me to do shit, but who knows. I haven’t found any yet, might fuck around and join the rest of the world in understanding the Tiger King hype.

I feel like that daily, but I am not used to being stuck at home with nothing to do, so I think that I am slightly going mad. I never get there I just move onto the next show and get hooked on that. It’s a bad cycle, but I keep on doing it. I was watching Everwood, but I am done that, so I am moving on to Charmed the first version. Basically binge-watching things like you.

God, it’s been so long since I watched Charmed, I should make a list of shit I want to watch, and I should for sure put that on the list. I used to be obsessed with that show when I was a kid, I remember waking up before school to watch re-runs that came on at like six in the morning. Then I’d just sleep in class instead.

Just cause it’s the not type of productive they were looking for, doesn’t mean it wasn’t productive. Write a quick song inspired by something on the show and then bam, you’re done. They’ll believe it, and it might be a banger.

I did something, and I feel accomplished, and that’s what counts. You’re right. That’s the vibe for the next album, “live to the max” changing my stage name to Max Rager while I’m at it. Write a few bangers about zombies. I managed a whole album based off a song inspired by vampires last year, it could be my new thing.

I’ve been wanting to get into iZombie, man! How was watching it? Give me your full review, I gotta know if it’s worth sitting myself on my couch and not getting up for. I finished rewatching all eight seasons of Scandal in a matter of a month so I get it. But luckily my agent hasn’t been on a manhunt trying to get me to do work related things, the break’s been a really nice one.

Man, when I tell you that it’s literally my favorite show, I’m not kidding. I’m obsessed with it, honestly. I’ve never watched Scandal, but I’ve heard good things, maybe I should look into that next. But you’re lucky, my manager wants me to try for a summer album; never should’ve had that home studio installed. Then I’d have a reason to say I couldn’t do it.

Nah, you didn’t mishear, I just didn’t specify past telling him I was working on it, which technically I did - but also I didn’t, you feel me? No apology needed. I kinda talk in circles a lot and word things weird, it’s a bad habit. I just finished it all, and I’ve reached that post-show emptiness where you don’t know what to do next, you know? What you up to?

This is one of them times where there’s a fine line between a lie and honesty. I didn’t tell him I was working on tunes, he just said he expects me to be, and I said alright. Does that count as lying? Hey Ashley, I’m Austin.

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve done the same thing with my manager and working out for movies and everything. I’m doing it currently with Grey’s Anatomy, though. Like..I’ve got 15 seasons to get through as quickly as I can before somebody finds out or my manager or agent barges in on me crying over Meredith Grey. Another good show I’ve been watching is I Am a Killer! I’ve been recommending that to all my mates and what not.

I have every intention of working on music, I just haven’t had the motivation, and iZombie was worth it. But I’m the worst for getting distracted by things I shouldn’t be getting distracted by, and I feel like Dre expects that at this point. I feel like I’ve heard of I am a Killer, was that one of those that was really big on Netflix not long ago? Am I imagining that? What’s it about?

I told my manager I was working on some new tracks, instead I just binge rewatched all five seasons of izombie in two weeks, so you could say that I’ve been productive. Now I don’t know what to watch next though. And I’m no closer to finding inspiration for new songs than I was before Liv got scratched. ( @hwlstart​ )
