@avantguitar-blog
I haven't posted new music in awhile. Long overdue. Here's a little ditty that will get the kids toes tapping.
For Istvan on his Birthday.
a little improvisation on the Ibanez Montage. As an acoustic it's pretty amazing. It has a built in distortion set in the pickup switch, so that you can toggle back and forth between trad pickup, piezo and heavily distorted acoustic sound. Just my kind of acoustic guitar.
Here's a solo guitar piece that makes use of the ring modulator with its frequency assigned to foot controllers. The delay and ring mod give that awesome Louis and Bebe Barron "Forbidden Planet" sound. Â I'm a sucker for those early simple oscillator sounds. I'm playing a Hagstrom Viking with P90's through my trusty Guitar Rig 4. While latency is a hassle, it's simply the best tool so far for tweaking the hell out of guitar sounds.
a bit of tweaking around with delays tied to a step sequencer.Â
Updated the pedal board. Super clean! Added another Moog controller, Keeley 4 knob and boss acoustic simulator.
So, here we go. Thought I'd actually start to start on an albums worth of material. To what end, who knows, just to get it out, I guess. I really have no intention of it going anywhere. Which allows me to write exactly what I want to hear. It's for an audience of one. Here's part 1 of "The Great Unraveling"
bringing a little structure to things in this crimson-y piece
Resurrected pedalboard up and running. Mostly used to trigger momentary effects
back from new york and can't get enough of the slice effect on solo guitar. endure my indulgence here:
In this little improvisation, I'm trying to find the balance between emotional content and the surprise of some of the effects and techniques I employ. personally I think you can extend things while still taking your audience with you. Here I'm using heavily tweaked patch in guitar rig with a beatslice effect as well as an octave down trigger set on a sostenuto  pedal.
Here's to 2011 being better than that sonofabitch, 2010. May a little bit of peace come to you this year.
Up to this point I've only posted live solo recordings. no overdubs. Well this definitely has multiple tracks.Getting ready to write some new music, I was just taking the studio out for a spin with this quick sketch, a Henry Cow, Â Zappa, Bartok extravaganza with a bit of free improv at the end. Hotcha.
