Can we talk of how low key Harry believed Sirius to be an idiot ? Never in the books is seen that he despises him or his father for the plan that got all his family killed , or is even angry at anyone beside pedigreew , that they went behind dunbledoir back and ensured that Sirius would be seen as a murderer and him ending raised by violent sadistic muggles , but that understandable he is a kid that decided to worship the marauders . Nor is he in fact , ever angry with lupin for nearly killing him and his friends . And yet ...and yet in the way he reacts to the vision , shows that he totally sees Sirius being indifferent to the consequences as long as he has fun and that frankly he believes whole heartedly that Sirius would leave his hiding stop and go in some magically inhabited place for long enough that even the death eaters got to him ! He never saw either of the marauders as proper adults , and what's more funny that even Voldemort first idea of morron in the Order that would believably get captured is also Sirius Black ... (I mean kmon no one would have believed he got Hermione or Molly Weasley for a reason )I would love to see some fiction where Sirius lived long enough to demand why Harry would ever believe that he would something so morronic, and fool hardy ? It is after James got Severus life in his hand , that he knew he couldn't trully seek revenge , or tell anyone that the saving was hiding an attempted murder, that he dared to go this far ...it gets more horrifying the more u know about the moment , many people would have liked the prank to have happened after , because it would shown James trying to" change " it would have made him seem less of a swine , and made the saving worth something beside what it was

Severus hatred for the marauders was childish and originated from a school rivality he never got over my ass Lupin ! Does all the magic world believing Sirius black being the cause of of Lily's death for 12 years just not register in people's minds? That James basically opened the door to s death eater and invited him in ? There was a reason Lupin had not dared to show his face in front of dumbledor for 12 years , he was deeply ashamed of what all of them had done ,even if for once he was the only one not directly involved . But this tells me one thing that people like lupin had absolutely no idea of Severus had feelings for Lily , and that Snape had been very carefull in repressing and hiding them , because he doesn't see why Snape would be angry for anything else than the bullying , he thinks the Potters deaths wouldn't even fase him , and in general how wrong the idea of Snape being any kind of stalker , truly is . Lupin had no fucking idea . What weirds me out that people that have read the books seem not to truly understand either .

James saved Snape's life!

True and you know James saved him a few months before the worst memory so well… he did save him from being killed by Remus, after Sirius tricked Severus into going to his death.

Yet it doesn’t seem that James regrets it or that he is so angry with Sirius, since after that event he continues to bully Snape just because Sirius is bored, and in order not to miss anything, he SA him.

He saved him from death, made himself a hero (while Snape was forbidden to tell the truth) and then choked, humiliated and SA him.

It allowed him to get very much into lily's graces too, that some how knew about it, which is real sketchy in and on itself ...did Snape go against Dunbledor orders and his life debt to tell her such an humiliating story ( remember he dint tell anyone lupin true nature for years even to his fellow death eaters until Lupin decided to step foot into hogwarts again ), and she ignored the core of the problem ?that for someone to spare his life someone else had to have wanted him dead in the First place , and got away with it because they failed ? Or did the marauders spread it them self without care that it could have endangered Lupin and possibly revealed at least one of them was a fucking psycho ? Just how much arrogance does it take to believe them self beyond any consequence , and that not only would Snape keep his mouth shut but no one would ever investigate this because he dint have real friends ,and deciding it was a good moment to improve their standing and paint one of them as a hero instead if shutting the hell up and laying very low for some time ?! I tell u people would have a lot less impressed if they discovered that Potter had saved Snape from Sirius Black , because no one would have ever believed this wasn't planned between them

We all got the impression that Sirius was not exactly himself after Askaban right ? We see it again and again from the slashed portrait , the cut curtains because he could concive that the Rat was not exactly were he was expecting him to be or the simple fact that he forgot when the full moon was coming and maybie even it's connection to Lupin when he decided to bring Pedigrew and James son into the shack that night , to have a bloody reunion . Those night were important to him and yet he allowed himself to forget such an important detail ! He was many things but fine was not one of them ... Am I the only one thinking that considering all of this and with how much joy he jumps on the memory train of nearly killin Snape and getting away with it as soon as he meets Lupin after years , even forgetting that he was there to take revenge for a moment , that the slyderins were in true and real danger of him that whole year ? Some of these kids no matter if they had even been alive during the war were children of Death Eaters ... in my mind there is no doubt that if Sirius meet Draco breaking the rules as kids do , one of the times he was going around the castle using secret passages , he may not even been able to distinguished him from his father for long enough to cause some real damage . And lupin dint know in what state of mind his ex friend was yet he allows him to walk around unmolested ! I kinda see Snape sleeping near the entrance of his house when he wasn't patrolling just in case Black came out to play .

Let's not aplaud James too much for not having it in him to properly kill the kid they were bullying , he was probably clever enoght to understand that if Snape turned up dead or better yet in small little pieces they were the first people to be investigated , which would not only gotten Lupin killed but also them put in Askaban , and let's not act like he wasn't perfectly happy with using the life debt he had over Snape to hold him up and strip him naked in front of a crowd knowing full well he would have dared to say what happened to him , no matter how far James and his friends went .

But apart from that what reason did Snape have to believe that Sirius was actually innocent ? For all he knew Srius was there to deal with Pedigrew that escaped him the first time and kill Harry in some weird cat and mouse game , and lupin was in on it , since he hid the existence of the map , and the Animagus form and conveniently forgot to take his potion the night Sirius decided to make his move , which was to bring the trio inside the Shack of all places . Everyone belived for years Sirius was a monster , just because Dumbledor and Lupin act all that nons chalan after dosent mean they had not been ready to let him rot in Askaban ! I do feel sorry for Sirius , but Snape was right in believing Lupin could not be trusted he went behind all of their backs basically let a pretty unhinged and mentally scarred Sirius Black inside the castel and acted way to cavalier with his own deadly and deeply infectious curse around kids he has responsibility over

How did Lupin of all people, who already knew what persecution felt like, still be friends with James and Sirius after the incident with Snape in their fifth year. Lupin didn't hail from a very affluent family like James or Sirius, both of whom grew up with a sense of entitlement. His background as well as his lycanthropy should have made him know better than to tag around with the likes of James and Sirius and partake in activities as heinous as forcibly disrobing someone. That he was a prefect and had ample opportunity to put an end to James' and Sirius' misbehaviour makes it all even more abominable. He didn't need to be friends with Snape but he could have very well stopped James and Sirius. Instead, he stands by and watches as his friends attack an unsuspecting boy just because "he exists".

It is selfishness at its height. He was accepted by James and Sirius despite his lycanthropy and he wasn't willing to endanger that sense of belonging for anything. So he turns a blind eye to it all.

He knew that when they bought him out they were comming close to getting people killed and never stopped it and even years latter they joke about "the near misses " they had with Harry like it nothing , do you really think Lupin would have drawn the line at Snape ? I think if there is one thing you can be completely sure about Severus Snape is that he absolutely never expected Lily's forgiveness if they ever meet again in death . Nor did he ever search for it , and certainly he didnt live his life with that as a sole goal . What he did good he did because he could. If he wanted some kind of reconcilation then becoming a pseudo father figure for her son , like lupin and black did , would have been his first move, the most low hanging of the low hanging fruits , but guess what ? He basically begged dumbledor to never allow Harry to even know the truth about him instead , so he couldn't ever get the temptation to get close .he does everything in his power to push the boy away even if the sole reason he has for not abandoning the light to fend for itself , is the boys existence .

and In the end he tells Harry the key to defeat Voldemort , sure he was being pushed into a corner , sure he waited until the last possible moment , sure u could say it is because in the end he knew there were fates worse than death and forcing the boy to fight an immortal dark lord, basically forever, that was never gonna relent ,would have been a lot worse than giving him a way to protect all his friends ... but he does that knowing the consequences of his action . Do people that shit talk him think that that is the action of a man who would have tried to get forgiveness in the after life ? How???? Call him toxic all you want but everything he did was the opposite of pushing his feeling into her . Nor I believe he venerated her in any way either . If his love was toxic to anyone it was only ever to him , but he was fine with that .

I kinda get the feeling that dumbledor choose James Potter as head boy because he wanted Lily Evans and dint want him keep undermining her authority in public . That was serious shit , if he put a head girl mugle born and gryphondor in that role and then she was treated like nice pice of ass evrytime she tried to use her power on a gryphondor , the males in other houses would have followed suite (especially those that already had a problem with her blood line ) . Having her sexually harassed in public all the time is not a good look on any of headmasters ideas, or future army ... But if James was headboy ? Okay I’ve been seeing so many anti snape stuff lately and reading through them one thing I’ve noticed is that snaters in a way are the same people who glorify bullying and abuse when done by attractive people or are obsessed with the “good victim” narrative.

I absolutely hate that because trauma affects everyone in different ways just because snape refused to forget being sexually assaulted and at one point nearly murdered does not make him a bad person. Ffs do snaters have no empathy unless it suits there narrative?? Being unattractive isn’t a crime you have to pay for! Existing isn’t a valid reason for someone stripping and bullying NOTHING justifies bullying. If snape was a girl James would be black listed and we all know it. Trauma displays itself in many ways you can’t deem one victim better than the other. I honestly hate that people still have to say this…

And the fun thing is that the fuker is made head boy just one year latter , rewarded just for containing his violence a bit , there is nothing the dude could have done in the one year to make him deserving of such a position, or make up what he did , if they wanted a gryphondor even lupin would have been better , but of course he is too incapable of resisting bullies if they are his friends and that makes him no good of corse , he would be easily corraptable ...so the choise is putting the actual bully there is the better one ? Realising just now that Remus gave Harry special lessons on the patronus charm because he dint want to feel like he was the bad guy of the story and abandoning James son completely to his fate , and that about it . He refuses to give up the map to Dumbledor in part for some old loyalty (that he just remembered he had apparently ) but also I imagine because he didn't want to reveal what he and his friends had been up to all those years ago. Sure he doesn't go to help Sirius personally maybie because he is still pissed at him for cutting him off or maybe just because there is a good chance he is an insane death eater that is there to use Harry in a blood sacrifice to his dead leader, and Lupin can't be friends with him then ... That all fun and good but what about Harry ? The literal kid who every facts points his friend is hunting down ? That nealy died twice already to the demontors that are there because of Sirius ?not taking a side here is very much taking a side , ignoring the problem dosent make it go away ! But lupin dosent care about that , as long as he int part of it , it isn't his fault. I am so far behind with @thegaylyprophetpodcast that I am all the way back in October 2020, listening to the "Eff Snape Forever" episode, where the lovely hosts raise the extremely good question, "Why didn't Madam Pomfrey brew the Wolfsbane potion for Remus?" So of course I had to come up with a reason to put in the notes for my pending re-write of Survivor's Guilt.

Remus is surprised to learn that Snape will be making the Wolfsbane potion for him. Madam Pomfrey protested this to Dumbledore. She knows Snape is a petty bitch, though she might underestimate how petty he would be toward a former schoolfellow after so long. She says the health and wellbeing of students and staff are her responsibility, and surely the Potions master is far too busy with his own duties to concern himself with such things. Snape insists, however, saying that the safety of the school is at stake, and while the matron may be competent to brew cures for the sniffles, or to fix the odd broken bone, a delicate and complex potion such as this deserves the attention of an expert. But really, he just wants something to hold over Remus, because he IS a petty bitch.

which i suppose answers my previous question about who knew. it makes sense that karkaroff's confession stayed within the ministry because he was trying to lessen his sentence, so if word got out of who it was he was accusing, what's to stop them trying to find an alibi or something.

it also proves my other point i said about lily staying loyal to snape despite their friendship ending. she clearly never told anyone he was, or at least aiming to be one. and it also confirms that snape being a death eater was not the reason james, sirius, peter and remus bullied him. because they didn't know.

james bullied snape because he was too close to lily, sirius bullied snape because he was the walking definition of everything sirius hated, peter egged it on because he is a follower, and remus didn't stop it because he was a coward 🤷🏾‍♀️.

I like your idea of this weird loyalty between them , because if Snape was ever even remotely connected to the death eaters the autos would have come for him ., But it is debatable if lily truly "knew" what she was taking about when they ended their friendship, she had no proof and as an adult she knew it . And everything she mentions is always because her friends tell her , and that is probably mostly the marauders them selfs or people that saw them as the coolest thing ever , just like when she was an adult she has an extremely small group of friends with even smaller views I doubt she interacted with anyone who was not in her house . And first and foremost she is and always will be and extremely bad judge of character as it is shown again and again ,putting her and her family life into the hands of Peter without asking him to give a a vow,( who is an extremely loyal death eater )believing Remus was a death eater and keeping him out of the loop(when he was the only one with half a brain in their group of friends ), and believing Sirius would actually raise her child in her absence ,who 3 seconds after he becomes the effective only parent figure to Harry , chooses to leave him and goes on a quest to take bloody revenge instead , ending up bend over a barrel by Pedigrew and incarcerated for life, by their own people that apparently trusted him A LOT less . And honestly her marrying James tastes as just as bad of a desigion as any of the previous 3 , if only because of statistical probability Ahaha
