While obviously Boq is pretty down after he gets turned to tin (valid). I think that since Fiyero has such a focus on his appearance and how he presents himself he would probably struggle to accept himself in the long run.

(And from a FiyerBoq pov) Fiyero looks down at his new hands, they’re sloppily sewn together with mismatched rough fabrics with gaps and pieces of hay falling out. His limbs bend at awkward angles, joins folding the wrong way. Knowing the rest of his body is equally as patchworked and misshapen after the spell. And when he looks over at Boqs new form, while he has obviously changed, the smooth filigree and panels that cover his body make him look like a knight from a fairy tale. Make him look confident. Make him beautiful.

One of the ideas I had was to have her get one of those one-day bugs. All the stress of the last week torched her poor immune system, so the second she got to lay down in a real bed her body was like "FINALLY, TIME TO CLOCK OUT"

They take an extra day before they set out to Kiamo Ko. The Tin Man is antsy and damn near his lowest point, but when Dorothy asks for help braiding her hair like her Auntie Em does... Revenge goes on the back burner for a minute.

My headcanon is that Boq is the eldest of like 8 siblings, and he learned how to do different braids for his sisters. He took a lot of pride in it actually, especially as a kid. No Woodsman left the house unkempt on his watch! He did his brothers' hair too, but he always liked doing the braids the most.

Spoilers for Wicked for good I suppose? Mostly just Boq stuff

genuinely SICK at all the tincel propaganda Boq is getting so let me defend him because YOU DONT GET HIM if you genuinely think he’s an incel.

Boq genuinely did care for Nessa. He just didn’t want her romantically. Thats okay. At one point maybe he did (up to interpretation) but WFG takes place years later, so the feelings can change. Whether he originally wanted to leave or not, this was a relationship where he knew that Nessa was relying on him to cope and get through a very hard time. He didn’t want to leave for fear of her own safety.

So when he finally did get the courage to leave, and it was shut down, he was obviously upset about this. It showed him how selfish Nessa was, and that he wasn’t as respected in that relationship as he had thought. He also, likely didn’t understand what was happening as Nessa recited the spell. Of course he blames Elphaba, because he was in the life or death scenario and probably didn’t have the time to think “hmm! Let me logically approach this while my heart is literally shrinking!”

He then goes on to hate Elphaba because he is HEARTLESS!!!! That’s the whole thing!!! It doesn’t matter how justified the feelings are, he doesn’t have a heart or the sympathy/empathy to calm these feelings. All he can feel is hate.

Which brings us to the stare at Glinda. That wasn’t him being a fucking incel or hating her because he was a nice guy. It was because his feelings for her is ultimately what caused this transformation, and it was also a sort of understanding of the permanence of the transformation. He didn’t turn into a happy go lucky guy because he saw his crush again. He looked with pure distain, further showing his actual heartlessness. It’s not even that he blames her (he could, again it’s up to interpretation) it’s more that the concept of her caused the worst thing in his life and there’s nothing either of them can do about it.

Please stop the tincel/boqcel slander guys ENOUGH

yes Boq dug his own grave for lying in the beginning, but nobody talks about his storyline undergoing domestic abuse, body horror, and ultimately having no justice in the end at all. He doesn't deserve that fate. Hating his decisions while being empathic with him can be true. And I see people out here condemning him for blaming Elphaba when in reality this fit of rage is a product of being manipulated once again.
