can we talk about gay (male) sex for a second
I am really awkward talking about sex but I’ve been really bothered recently so I’m sorry for the clunky and informal wording. I understand that the concept of a guy putting his thingy in another guy’s butt is very foreign to a lot of people. What I don’t understand is the stigma and the like…fear?
First, straight couples do it. Men do this with women. Yet talk about how repulsed they are by the idea of gay sex. Not every straight couple does it of course, but like…it’s the same concept.
Second, yeah there’s a risk for STDs. But there’s a risk for STDs with literally every single kind of sex. You have to be careful with butt stuff, but if you’re careful (especially if you’re monogamous) the risk is way way waaaaay lower.
Third, yeah, 💩 comes out of there. But all kinds of not so pleasant stuff comes out of a vagina too, you just don’t put your dick in their when it does. And yes the vagina is a self-cleaning organ, but guys who like things in their ass clean themselves up, and when you take those steps the risk of anything happening is super low.
Fourth, it can be just as romantic and intimate and meaningful. It isn’t just the top getting off while the bottom lays there in pain. It usually feels very good for both parties, and is just as intimate or hot as any straight couple having sex.
Fifth, I think people assume that if you’re the bottom you’re a feminine (which for whatever reason is considered negative) submissive emasculated boy who is somehow less of a man and is the ‘girl’ in the relationship, and if you’re the top you’re the ‘man’ who ‘wears the pants’ and that it works like a traditional heterosexual relationship. I know plenty of gay couples that are like this, I know many many more who aren’t. There are tons of really masculine guys who bottom and tons of feminine guys who top. What’s the big deal?
We don’t talk about it. I don’t know why. A lot of people are really supportive of gay people but the minute conversation shifts to gay sex they get really uncomfortable and try to change the subject. Gay sex exists and it’s nothing subversive or dirty or gross. It’s a different entrance. It’s beautiful and special too. It can be emotional, it can be hot, it can be anything that any other kind of sex can be. I wish it wasn’t such a taboo subject, and I wish we didn’t pretend it didn’t exist.
