So now Thunderbolts haters are saying the same thing about the Thunderbolts writers having not watched Black Widow and thus ruining Yelena’s characterization from that film in Thunderbolts.

“Sibling coded” is a nonsense term because what does it even mean?

Every sibling relationship is different.

Some siblings are super close, are best friends and trust each other above anyone else.

Some siblings mock each other relentlessly but when it comes down to it, will fuck anyone up who dares to mess with their family.

Some siblings are friendly with each other but wouldn’t stick their neck out for the other if things got serious.

Some siblings don’t ever talk outside of the holidays. And it’s for the best for all involved.

Some siblings are abusive and absolutely hate each other.

So, I’m sorry I don’t know what you mean when you say two unrelated adults are “sibling coded.” Can you be more specific please.

Sorry, but every time I see people classify Bob as having DID, I have to rub my temples while my nose bleeds.

I’m a huge proponent of “Word of God Does Not Make It Canon” so Jake Schrier talking about how he based Bob’s mental struggles on a friend of his who is bipolar, is not canonical evidence that Bob is himself bipolar.

But do you know what is…..

The film itself

Bob talks about his extreme highs and lows . He talks about how some days he feels invincible and then others he remembers that nothing matters. He makes dangerous impulsive decisions when in those two extremes.

The first mention of the void is Yelena talking about her own extreme depression which Bob later reveals that he too feels like that.

Sentry/Bob/Void. All the same person, just different facets.

DID alters have their own memories and personalities. The Void and Sentry do not, they are just heightened emotional versions of Bob. Bob has had these swings in emotion since he was young.

Yes, Bob also mentions having massive blackouts in his memory. But that is also a coping method common when dealing with bipolar. Maybe not as extreme, but massive highs and lows can get hazy or jumbled when you reach back to your baseline. And that’s not accounting for the physical traumas Bob suffered as a child and his self medication with hardcore narcotics.

When Bob tells Walker “You can call me the Sentry,” it isn’t him “swapping” alters. It’s a “don’t call me by that traumatic nickname. I, Bob, will not be a victim anymore.”

The Void is a separate physical manifestation of Bob in that final show down because in that scene they are in a weird liminal space of reality. Not because they are actually separate people.

Loving the idea of the Yelena/Peter friendship going forward in the MCU.

But I desperately need a Jean/Bob friendship as well. The parallels between the two are simply too good to not touch upon.

My mom is trying to catch up on some old MCU films in preparation for Doomsday. So today she chose Multiverse of Madness.

I made a joke about how much I hate that film but would watch it with her anyways.

She wasn’t particularly loving it and then when it got to the Wanda vs the Illuminati scene, she just turned to me and deadpanned, “You were right. This is very stupid and bad.”

At some point shortly after that bit, I left to go upstairs and I’m pretty sure she fell asleep on the couch. 😂
