*before anyone says I’m discrediting Heeseung’s work these past 5/6 years, I’ve been an engene since I-land, I have a tattoo dedicated to them and have supported them through every hate train, this is just my personal opinion*

maybe it’s just me but I don’t really understand how people are still boycotting Enhypen after Heeseung/Evan left 3 months ago…I understand that people would love for the group to still be 7, but as fans we should be accepting the new chapter of enhypen as 6 and Heeseung as a solo artist. To speculate about the departure creates the narrative of distrust and only continues to spread an echo chamber of hate towards the boys.

I too wish things were different, but I as a fan of Enhypen I choose to support their new path. Do I like Belift? No, the company is ass and fans do have the power to change things (I literally did an academic paper on it) though in this context I think we should accept that Enhypen as 6 is their new future while Heeseung chose a solo path. No need to create drama or animosity towards each other.

Support Enhypen and Evan. So I guess if any boycotters or anti-boycotters read this, I’d like to know your thoughts/opinions not in an argument way, I want to understand your position and what made you think a certain way.

these boycotts and the collective hysteria surrounding enha should have ended the moment heeseung left. at this point, it has moved far beyond concern and more into irrationality. some engene are now punishing the remaining six members for continuing with the group, while simultaneously denying a 24 year old adult any autonomy over his own ambitions, career, and future.

that contradiction alone says a lot.

i genuinely believe much of the fixation on belift/hybe, however valid criticism of those companies may be, is rooted in something deeper. it seems many fans cannot accept that someone they projected onto and believed they “knew” through online stan culture could make a personal decision they do not agree with. tough pill to swallow, i know! stay with me. and rather than accept that discomfort, some fans are constructing narratives where heeseung must have been trapped, manipulated, or in need of “saving.” and it is easier for them to blame a corporation than to confront the reality that idols are capable of making choices independent of fan approval.

a boycott was never going to function the way people pretend it would. a group’s value within the industry is measured through sales, streams, ticket demand, and public momentum. anddd when those metrics decline, companies do not automatically interpret it as a moral protest demanding reform. instead, it’s often seen as decreased profitability and this just ends up creating more pressure and stress on the members.

there is also an obvious selective outrage at play. many of the same people loudly framing this as mistreatment would not be making these arguments if heeseung had stayed in the group and the tour had been announced exactly as it is now. performative much?

what makes all of this especially frustrating is how infantilizing the entire conversation has become. these boys are not helpless children. they are grown men with years of industry experience, financial resources most people their age do not have, professional teams around them, and access to legal counsel if necessary. it seems like whenever members make decisions fans agree with, the narrative becomes “okay let’s trust them, they know what they are doing.” but the moment one of the boys makes a choice fans dislike, that trust disappears and is replaced with claims that the company must be coercing them.

at the end of the day, this is what parasocial entitlement looks like when it is disguised as activism. i just hope fans who still want to buy albums or see their favorites in concert do not feel discouraged or bullied by boycotters. enjoy your favorites while you can and support them in the ways that feel meaningful to you. im sure the boys have worked tirelessly for this comeback and have taken time to create amazing stages for fans to enjoy. they have earned the opportunity to showcase their talent on such massive stages and reach the level of success they have today.

I’ve been an engene since I-land so waking up today and seeing that Heeseung is leaving Enhypen is baffling. Belift has never allowed the members to have individuality (no solo instagrams, minimal solo brand promotion and solo covers, etc). Nor have the boys been given a proper chance to have a break from promoting, touring, and group activities. From the start the company has distilled the idea that if the boys took a break that fans would abandon them.

If this was truly Heeseung’s decision then I support him 100% and will tune into his solo activities as well as continuing to support Enhypen.

No matter what Enhypen will remain being 7 in my heart even if physically only 6 members are shown on stages.

late to the season 4 bridgerton party but i’m thinking about how perfect Jungkook’s song Yes or No would fit their storyline not to mention episode 5 is literally titled the same.

the lyrics flow for the Benophie storyline so well, both of them needing the sense of confirmation that they are indeed in love with each other. the bridge part of the song literally going “something about you/do you feel the way i do/ there’s magic in this room.” i can see the beginning of the track from Benedict’s perspective when he finally realizes he’s fallen for Sophie, “i’m gonna trust my heart right now/and if it’s better to bet on us then i’ll double down/and if we end up in bed and i’ll put the covers out/and if i’m wrong i’ll just bury my head deep underground.” it perfectly encapsulates the unspoken feelings for each other and how they needed the push of a yes or no. i recommend giving the song a listen while thinking of this seasons storyline.

honestly i wish the production put an orchestra version of a K-pop song for the season especially because Yerin Ha is Korean. there’s so many kpop songs that come to mind that fit the seasons storyline. mmmm benophie x kpop songs brainworms. i could go on and on about this.

Is it weird if I say Heeseung kinda gives me Pete Wentz vibes? (In the best way possible of course). Fall out boy lyrics feel like lyrics Heeseung could write and take inspiration from. I need to hear Heeseung's vocals in the style of a Fall out Boy song, I think that would EAT.

I just HAD to give Sunghoon, MCR. My Chemical Romance's vibe, lyrics, and sound SCREAM Sunghoon to me. So many references to vampires, a perfect balance of yearning and angst, and social commentary. To me MCR feels very Sunghoon.

Sonically Paramore and Sunoo make the most sense to me, with Paramore's music range delving from hard hitting anthems to softer more delicate love songs. Pairing these two together in my eyes shows how Sunoo isn't just one side of the same coin, but a double-edged sword. Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss.

Ni-ki is low key my emo king, Bring me the Horizon's discography encapsulates the chill and intense vibe Ni-ki has. Their song is heavier than others I listed, but lyrically I feel like Bring me the Horizon and Ni-ki work together, there's more than what's on the surface.
