Conjugate release pad is a polyester matrix. This is the stage where assay identification combinations (such as gold pairs) are kept in dry form. The synthetic material structure of the conjugate pad ensures its quick and efficient release by returning the test sample along with its flow.

Conjugate release pad has all the dried buffer salts and thickening but why does it need to be separated from the membrane? Why can’t we easily deposit all the reagents in the membrane instead of including conjugate pads?
